Proposing the addition of, for starters, the BRDM-1 scout car.
BRDM-1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The direct predecessor to the BRDM-2, the BRDM-1 is, well, old - its production started in 1957 and, despite being widely produced and exported, it was almost immediately rendered obsolete by the introduction of its bigger brother, the -2 model.
Of course, such a weapon would be of marginal, if any, tactical value to any conventional force. But the poorest African nations have always had a tendency to employ even the most obsolete equipment - T-34s were encountered in large numbers by SADF forces in Angola during their deployment there - if only because there were no better options available. The BRDM is falls into that category, making an ideal, readily available vehicle for the ARF.
Armed with a SGMD or DShK machine gun and, on certain models, a number of AT missiles (AT-1, 2, and 3).
The other thing I had in mind were the early model BTRs (152 and 40). These APCs were far more basic than the later 50 and well known 60 models in the BTR series, being little more than armoured trucks based off WW2 halftrack models, such as the M3 and Sd.Kfz 251.
BTR-152
BTR-40
Like the BRDM-1, both vehicles were widely produced and exported - including exportation to Africa - and like the BRDM-1, that makes them ideal candidates for ARF use. On the downside, the BTR-152 and 40 are very, very similar, adding both would probably be somewhat redundant. Anyway, enjoy (and think about, hopefully, wink, wink).
