[Help] L3DT Problem. Please Help.

Here's the problem:

I make a map 256 x 4 scale so it's 1024. Now I create a project in L3DT, I make it 1024 with a scale of 1, that's basically the same size right? Someone let me know if I'm doing it wrong. I've looked at about 25 different tutorials and none have them worked.

So when I switch out the HeightmapPrimary's and load it into the editor it looks like this:

Or when I do it with another size, the terrain doesn't look anything like it does in L3DT it's a lot lower to the ground.

Someone please help me out. This is driving me nuts.

Thanks!

if you want to do a 1km map do a 1024x1 map or a 512x2
try to keep the scale as small as possible

to raise the height of your map you need to change the heightscale

->TweakerBar -> [YOURLEVELNAME] -> LevelSettings -> (sth with Height the default Nr should be 163, ....)

BF2 map sizes are 256x2 (0.5km^2), 512x2 (1km^2), 1024x2 (2km^2) or 1024x4 (4km^2).

You shouldn't make a BF2 map in scale 1 and should only use scale 4 if your making a 4km^2 map (ie, Kashan size).

Okay, Thanks!

That helped. So now I need to know how to import surrounding terrain. Whenever I try uploading some it's never the right size. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

there are different programs to automatically generate surrounding terrain
i always use BGF Heightmap Tool (google or have a look at BfEditor.org)

your Surrounding Terrainsize default should be 257x257
