As the title says...Do you use Mumble for these reasons? For example at a close infantry ambush? I never experienced that, but thought it would be cool to confuse, and frighten the enemy. It brings more reality into the game, as psyhology is a part of real warfare (PSYOPS). Altough writing some demoralizing things in the chat doesn't have the same effect.
Maybe it causes serious lag, but has a feeling...!
Post your experiences or ideas about this usage of Mumble, if you have any.

It was fun back in the day when Mumble usage was a new idea and people would role-play etc... but then people stopped using Mumble to communicate with their own team through fear of the enemy hearing them.
How many (well mumble populated) servers still use the 1 channel system?

One of the experiences that sold me to mumble was when I sat in a humwee on TG.
It reminded so much of Generation Kill when the voices weren't limited to the bad quality of VOIP and a 3d effect.
The only time I have tried 1 channel it ended up with people t-bagging me and saying things that I will get banned for typing in this post

I did that once with friends, I could send the american players away just by shouting allah auckbah,
But yeah, now people use mumble more carefully.

Yes, i do actually make weird noises when i get killed in close quarters combat...
Last week with the UKWF mumble saturday, i've done some hilarious role playing, playing two guy's who where looking for Arnold Swarzenegger..., 'getting to tah chopaa', running to the enemies without kits, asking random people if they want to but drugs and 'rocks' (having the 'rock' selected ), asking Squadleader 5 if they want to give us our I-phone back, because the Nokia's that the insurgents have suck, using the IED as a AA-battery to restart Muhammeds car (instead of starting the car, he ended up killing someone) crashing motor-cycles into trees, and jumping on hummers... all in one match..
after that i made a squad names AARNIEEE, and played for the first time in PR a serious squad leader... ending up with seeing no enemies, caputering every flag, and being the best player + squad on the server... BEST PR MUMBLE NIGHT EVER.

This thread is exactly why 1-channel mumble is a complete and utter failure.

but in all seriousness you can have some real fun on mumble with the one channel system, only on certain maps though

It's even bigger failure, when people don't even join the squad leader channels out of the fear they might not be able to hear the enemy.

true this, i think only ArmA2 R will be able to fix this issue however PR2 will be the ultimate fix for our problems

Pelitutka does. It has its pros and cons, but has worked decently so far. Mainly populated by finns though, and thus might be quite unpleasant for a foreign person due to all the silly Finnish force chatting. Even I am usually annoyed. We still do have over 30 people on Mumble quite often. And SL Channels exist.
Although two-channel system allows more teamwork and is a lot better overall, I'm quite happy with the current system. Perhaps Pelitutka isn't exactly the most teamwork oriented server out there. Unfortunately.

UKWF and NWA and a lot of servers still use 1 channel. I dislike it because the community dislikes it. Mumble should only be used to talk to blue guys so most of the time it isnt even a hindrance or a position away giver. But if makes the community hate or not use Mumble and thats always a bad thang! I think thats one of the reasons TG (as far as I know almost the only one who uses 2 channels) has more mumble users.

That is my point! What a heck is that right? The server doing that is like taking circle wheel and reshaping it into square after people walked very hard to make it circle.
Mumble's purpose to begin with is to bring voice part of sound in Project reality like anything else. Like in real life.
