autokill after tk (minor)- did not pick up victims kit

Description:
auto kill after teamkilling- i took an enemy sniper (taliban), placed frag trap. i had a medic kit nearby that i had been cycling for the better cq.
a friendly sniper got teamkilled by the frag trap. i picked up my medic, revived, and returned to my rifle. autokilled.

i understand if this isn't a bug. i do understand the system which kills if you retrieve a tk victims kit. this was interesting, however, because i picked my own kit up (the 'guilty kit'), and was punished. seems like an unintended consequence.
