 Yeah, e.g. that what you said...

NOT TO DO ON A PUB-SERVER:
Best way to do that e.g.: with an Apache  Hellfire on enemy's laser target  with much luck you'll hit/eliminate two whole friendly squads and get kicked from Server. Would be best if loaded up to YouTube, filmed with Fraps, views from:

 Apache Gunner how he fires Hellfire

 (impact of missile) Commander-view from the sky

 (i.o.m.) from an enemy's view, from about 200m away BAAAM!!!

 last view from a squadmember, Hellfire Impact directly on him! :-D

1st reaction
2nd r.
3rd r.

Suggestion isn't possible I'm afraid. The voice commands do not have a singular and plural form of every word. And while adding an "s" for the english version might not even be that hard, it's impossible to do in all language, and if it's just for a lack of voice actors with access to a recording studio, especially for the more exotic factions and the upcoming community factions.

Now I get it. LOL

I was confused for a min.

Isn't it why we have mumble, vent, TS and in-game VOIP so you can let your team know about "ContactS" ? so the como rose could be used for something more useful? Just a thought really

Reference? In-game. As a US officer right click 'attack this position' and you'll get 'move out, attack here' or a variant. Same for 'defend this position' and 'move here'

Plus its possible as we can see with the radio when spotting, with rightclick for stationary AT and stationary AA.

Currently the US factions use the default BF2 voice settings so new ones would be hard to develop, especially tying them onto the same level as the current ones.

All I'm getting from your suggestion is to make plural spotted reports, using an already existing alternate right-mouse button function on the commo-rose.. I don't think that's gonna add much to the mod.

would also be more confusing, and would take up more commo-rose spots :\

I would actually like if the SL could say "enemy spotted" in the Commo Rose (instead of CO mark) with a right-click... Or vice-versa.

Actually I didn't mean that, but that'd be nice to, like this:

Left Mousebutton: contact (as usual)
But Right Mousebutton:

"Enemies at [here comes automatically the degrees e.g. "255" (twohundredfiftyfive)], distance [blabla] meters!"

I mean the DEV's should construct a little program that checks, whitch direction your looking at that moment, and check the distance to the object you're looking at.
But maybe that would just be boring because therefore you got Mumble and ingame-VoIP... (or TS3)... And that's teamwork.

As I said, there's no voice files saying "255" or anything, so that'd be just text...

Use VoIP instead. Just as fast, and it won't spam the screen with random chat messages.

Yeah, you're right. But in every other PR-fraction that are still WIP they have/had to record their own language!!!

Doubt they're all recording voices. Probably none of them do. BF2 is sold in many countries, and has been translated into many languages. They'll just use these voices.

Well... I suppose you can use VOIP for that, really, otherwise it would be too AI-ish, like Arma 2?

I don't know ARMA II but I agree. And I know that the guys for the "Dutch Armed Forces" record the sounds by themselves.

I meant that the computer auto-calculates distance for you. The aim of PR, afaik, is to put you in the shoes of a regular soldier. Saying the bearing would be too computer-ish, since you wouldn't really look at your compass when you get into contact. What COULD work would be the "clock bearing", but that's probably hardcoded on BF2, + it is VERY buggy in Arma 2.

IDF, Dutch and Australians have recorded their own voices. Other comfacs have to do the same thing of course (unless their language already exists, but for most comfacs, they don't).
