Why am I getting black and white screen when I get shot?

hi, I have just installed PR to my new computer and set it all up. I thought everything was ok untill I went online and got shot. For some reason my screen is going black and white and I am coughing much quicker then before. On my old system I would last quite some time and the screen would stay clear for sometime with the odd splash of red, I would cough but it would still alllow me to see where I was going.

I guess my question is this, is the black and white screen suppose to come so quickly? I 'm just not sure if i'ts an error on this computer or the other now?

Lol...

You're critically wounded. That's it.

You've clearly been more wounded than last time you played.

It is to show your health has fallen below 25% and you need medical attention fast, it is supposed to simulate a soilder being hit and wounded or not being able to fire back :D

It would help to read the manual before you play.

You only get the black and white filter on high texture settings.

unfortunately the black and white effect doesnt work all the time, e.g. when anti aliasing is on on some nvidia graphics cards.

but it means you are critically wounded, a parody of going in to shock.

Actually I am kinda confused by the post...it seems as if he is asking if he is getting the BlackWhite prematurely?

Actually, I disagree. No one has answered his question. You all just scoffed and acted superior (with all do respect).

The OP is clearly asking why the black and white effect seems to be happening quicker on his newer machine, with higher settings.

I remember reading somewhere that the duration of the suppression effect is tied to frame rate. Is this perhaps along the same lines? Or is there some other explanation as to why he is getting different result on a different computer?

Correct.

The OP's new computer might be running a new AMD card and this might be his first experience with the effect? Hard to say, since he didn't provide any specs and none are listed on his forum profile.

I am glad someone uses their brain before posting an answer. All these posts and only three people with a brain  I have played this game from day one so I am quite capable of noticing any changes to the game. I bet all you scoffers feel a bit daft now getting burned an all

drkstr, You have got it spot on my friend because that is what seems to be happening. The computer I have now is a highend one and twice as quick as my other computer. So does this mean that I am going die twice as quick? My frame rate is a steady 100 FPS now, but before it was 60 FPS.

Will turning my setting down on the Geforce card do anything? Before I was playing in 1600x 1200, but now I am playing in 1920x 1200.

Thanks to those that have helped so far and to the rest I have one thing to say... BURNED

Why remove the black and white, it's a feature, not a bug, no point in trying to fix it. The bug was on your last computer where you didn't have it ;)

And no, you will not die quicker just because you have a higher FPS, FPS don't alter the time

Erm, it's not a debate the fact is I am dying quicker and it has nothing to do with how I am playing. I am bleeding out after about 5 seconds. Are you telling me that everyone bleeds out within 5 seconds and dies?

You only get it when AA is not enabled, at least I do.
