BF2 and PR Crash upon startup

Although the title may make this seem like the extremely common CTD's most people get when they try to start the games, it's not. I've actually never seen it before.

Whenever I start PR, it opens the splash screen and then stops responding... and then, about one minute later (regardless of whether or not I have closed PR) Bf2 starts up and just stays as a black screen, flashes a few times and stops responding.

Now, when I try top start BF2, it skips the splash screen and just goes to that terribly frustrating black screen problem. :-(

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Thanks in advance!

Um this is very common as I've had this happen on 3 guys' computers I've known. What you need to do is either
A) Install proper drivers, making sure all bad drivers are uninstalled
B) Stop screwing/letting others screw with your computer, specifically BF2. Make sure you're using the default PR link w/o any addons.

I'm not doubting either based on what OS you're using ;)

just a quick...
have you patch your bf2 first to 1.41 and then 1.50?
you need both patches...
and run as admin?

Okay, PR and BF2 have both worked within the last three days, and that's with the same exact drivers I have now.

And yes, I've already patched it to 1.41 and then to 1.5.

Also, One thing is that I have recently installed editor and made the pr_edit folder, but editor was giving me problems, so I uninstalled it and deleted the pr_edit folder.

Don't know if that helps, but it might.

Also, with 0.95 looking so close, I may just wait for it and then reinstall BF2 and PR with 0.95 and everything.
