Why do you hate mumble?

The people who use mumble obviously like it. However I can think only of one or 2 servers where is a heavy use of mumble. So the majority of the players do not like using mumble. Why dont you like mumble?

This is a question the PR team as a whole is very interested in. I'll add a poll

I have some clan mates who love it and some who hate it, and we always argue about this and come to the conclusion, there really is no reason to hate Mumble!!!! But they can express their own opinions

1. It's extra work
2. It's complicated (unless you are computer savvy, which not everyone is)
3. Most mumble users are smug **** holes... jk
I can guarantee you that despite what this poll says, it's #1 that's preventing it from being commonly used.
I only use mumble on TG. It's just not worth the extra work for something that is just about useless on most servers. I think for it to really be used by enough people, it needs to somehow be integrated into the mod. Perhaps as an automated background process that is run when you fire up PR...
*EDIT*
Also, this poll will be skewed. You are only polling a subset of the game population. I would bet that the percentage of mumble users is higher in regular forum goes vs non forum goers. The hard truth is that people are generally lazy, and don't bother doing something which does not provide them immediate satisfaction.

I fail to see how Mumble is extra work...
It's like 3 mouse clicks.

Mumble never works for me. its never directional, im always on the wrong team, it just feels like TS. it worked once in an earlier build, but it was only the one time and it was just me and another guy fooling around.

I like it, but I really don't use it that much anymore, because the most of the servers I frequent no longer use it. If more servers used it, yeah I would too.

You have to run the program, login, find the channel, then figure out which team you're supposed to be in (sometimes requiring more then 1 alt+tab)...
But that's besides the point. It doesn't matter if it's easy or not. Most people will not accept new IT products unless they have to, or they know it will provide them with clear and immediate satisfaction.
This is also known as the "I don't know" reason for not adopting a new IT system.
Q: Why don't you use this new widget?
A: I don't know.

The next reason I have elected to opt out of mumble is a little petty, granted however, I shall mention it. Over the last few patch's I have been militantly kicked out of servers and squads alike because I elected to not use mumble - simply put I don't kick you out or stop you from being in my squad just because your VOIP doesn't work... To cut a long story short: I did not appreciate the elitist attitude perused to try and make mumble fashionable. It actually got my back up a little and had a negative rather than positive effect on me.
Right, jsut finished packing my backpack for Kenya, about to go to sleep, but I'm gonna make my last post for a month
kicking because you're not in mumble is kind of **** if its not a mumble only server, however don't generalise please

You'd be welcome in my squad any time as long as you have a mic, if you're on mumble, yay, if not...I'll live. Mumble is about inter-squad coms more than intra-squad coms (though it has uses there as well) I've pushed for mumble to be used more than most people, however I only state the pros and cons of the system, I don't say "the best players use mumble", you are kind of reminding me of my mate who intentionally wore unfashionable clothes to make a statement
but I suspect that there might be functionality in vanilla mumble 1.2 regarding whispers that may one day be incorporated in to PR mumble, but I have no idea.
and its not an invasion of privacy

an invasion is if we came on to your teamspeak to eavesdrop
I like it, but I really don't use it that much anymore, because the most of the servers I frequent no longer use it. If more servers used it, yeah I would too.
if no one joins becaues no-one is one...no1 will ever be on.
Join, say ingame "I'm on mumble, team 2 is MEC" and you shall profit, don't be a sheep mate.

I chose other. Reason:Most of the servers I play in don't use it and I already use ventrilo. I do have mumble installed and its pretty cool when I play with my clanmates on a server using mumble. But like I said I hardly play on servers that use mumble.

To those that say it's hard?
First run:
Launch Mumble
Audio wizard
- Fiddle with send and recieve levels
- Bind keys for Local and Global talk
- All other settings are done for you
PR Mumble client automatically has the server entered for you.
Type a username, leave password blank
Join, find server you plan on joining.
Every other time you run mumble:
Launch mumble
Press join (details are saved for you)
Find server
How is that any harder than using TS3 or Vent. I don't understand why everyone is so alienated by it.
Hearing a lot of voices? bind mute and deafen keys. Just like TS/Vent

Dont use it because my computer is old. PR itself is all setted to "low" and/or "off", 50% view, and I can still get some low frames at certain maps, with the exceptions of desert maps, such as Jabal and Kashan, which I can play with 100% distance fine. I think mumble will add extra processing to my athlon xp dino.

This poll needs another option.
- I don't like/am against change.

I don't know how we used to play PR without mumble. Seriously. It's not even the same game.

I love Mumble, but I hate having to switch teams, or being confused about which team to be on. And the hours that I play at, the only Mumble server that has more than 10 people is Tactical Gamer, on a typical day.

I use it all of the time but for some people mumble is too amazing for them to handle beig able to talk to a blue guy nearby, so they go off and tlk about the most random stuff even when they are asked/told to stop talking because of more important actual gamrealted things going on. That is the only downside for me but that is the poeple using the program and not knowing that you still need some comms discipline when you are asked to be quiet and its just not the time or place to talk. But with the right people who know how to use it effectively its awesome.

Ive said it before, so i might as well say it again...
Using mumble, the way it was most likely intended (ie. you and your enemy can hear each other) adds an addition in-game liability that i dont wanna deal with.
Using mumble, faction sided only, its the equivalent of a decent Teamspeak or Ventrillo server... so why should i bother?
Between BF2s Command/Squad voip, ingame chat box, and either TS or Vent, i have no need for mumble.
If you guys wanna spam music or relate false coordinates to the enemy on mumble, be my guest
