Ok this is getting kind of ridiculous. The UK was a good addon, so was Israel and Hamas, the Insurgents, and the Taliban. Even Russia. Then Canada comes out. My big question was why? And now Germany is coming out. Are you people serious? Please oh please tell me what has Germany done that other nations (US, Israel, UK) havent done x50 more of? This is getting silly. What random NATO nation is next, Sweden? WHOOO! Honestly the only reason you guys are adding these silly factions is because some of the DEVs are from these nations. No offense, but when it comes to wars, all you guys do is yell at the big bad US and say that the US is full of war criminals. The US and UK are doing 99% of the work. I know its a hard fact to deal with, but its true.

The only thing all these small factions are going to do for the game is bog it down. It breaks gameplay rhythm for no reason, and becomes more and more far fetched and un realistic. Just stop. If you really must add these factions, just add a NATO faction, comprised of a bunch of these nations, and make it easy on the rest of us.

And dont even try saying "Germany and Canada contribute a lot too" You tell me that, and ill tell you who has suffered the most casualties. ((psst: if you were wondering, its the US, by a HUUUGE margin))

So stop adding these extremely minor countries to the game. just leave them in singleplayer where those who enjoy playing as them can do so peacefully.

The fact is .. Okay so germany might not have such an active global enrollment at the moment oppose to isreal, UK, ETC ... im pretty sure they are still out there doing similar things as the other nations. Some part of PR isnt 100% realism .. Take CHINA for example ... Are we REALY going out and fighting china over a missle base out in the pacific? .... probibly not .. its particaly Hypothetical battles.. As well as ... russia Vs isreal, Beruit YES Isreal invaded but it wasnt RUSSIA they were fighting exactly. OR even Canada VS Russia , Yamalia... Is that really happening? nope indeed it isnt .

I would give it a Few minutes untill this gets locked but i feel there is some truth in what your trying to get across... Again .. if you want this to be a live thread .. cut it down to size and leave your opinion to a minimum. let other people discuss the topic

These factions are made by the community. There are many being worked on. One of them was the Russian Faction, another one IDF & Hamas. So were the Canadians. They add to the mod, and don't take from it.

And just scroll down the forums a bit, you'll see that many factions are being worked on. Not all of which play a major role in Afghanistan perhaps - but who cares? The scenario is completely fictional anyway.

They havent done anything... (1 or 2 skirmishes and convoy security doesnt count)

They have little to no casualty figures. That alone is enough proof.

You know the meaning of ''community faction''?

Well, Canada is a big contribution to societies problems(wars in general)

And Germany, is very important to teh world, whether in wars or in other stuff.

I think Germany will make a fine addition to the PR team.

To be frank: Its annoying. its great that there's community made factions. Its also great that most of them are in the singleplayer lobby, where they belong. Having a hundred different factions in multiplayer isnt fun, its annoying.

Exactly its more than Just a Faction they include into the Game its more about the Community getting togeather to expand the overall expenditure of the MOD Growth is Good if it just stayed with.. USA MEC/Changing to IraQ and . . . UK + Insergents mode with 5 maps the Mod would be killed instantly ... it was all good when it started but you cant stop the evolution of the mod Its happening all aslong as the Main Devs + Community faction Devs keep up what there doing for "YOU" and ME

Germany was a big part of the Yougoslavian peace keeping, as well as in Afghanistan.

Canada is in Afghanistan since 2001 with great dedication, as well as in Yougoslavia, Somalia and many other peace keeping missions.

I think Germany is a fine addition to PR, But I do hope however, not to see to many maps with them, to try and recreate the reality of it.

Or this is gonna end up with 20 servers full of germans only playing germany Maps. LOL

P.S: I agree however that we shouldnt let all countries do their own little stuff just because they are from there, if they want to contribute there is ALOT of stuff still to be made within the parameters of REALITY.. It WOULD be totally silly to have maps in PR consisted of countries whove never actually got into modern conflicts.

-perhaps all europeans could work together as NATO in upcoming releases Then we could had new campaigns such as:

-Yougoslavia peace keeping

-African peace keeping (rwanda, somalia, coastal piracy, ect ect)

-Many others

Because the community has put an effort into making that faction and got most of it done by themselves, doing all the work for the DEVs.

1.The reason why this faction is added is because some members of the PR community felt like PR could use a German faction, so they got to work and made it by themselves. The German faction is by no means an invention of the DEV team

2. Statements like "this country does more than that one" without ANY sources and a conclusion "I said it, it's true, if you do not believe this you're ignorant" just point out how childish you are and that you are not ready yet to live in a responsible and mature society.

Breaks the gameplay rythm for no reason you say? How's that? By bringing in new scenarios, unique weapons and vehicles and maps? And how's the Bundeswehr unrealistic? Care to explain?

BTW: Nato faction is pretty unrealistic: the NATO RF is full of fail, don't even get me started on why.

So now you're insulting every nation that is helping the US out in Afghanistan. Well done! Tbh they shouldn't even be there, it was only because of the US that other countries got involved.

And Germany has lost troops in Afghanistan. Wiki So have some respect. Also since when was having troops die in Afghanistan some sort of measure of being included in PR. Its project reality. Not project Afghanistan.

And really. Should we make a poll about how many people like more factions? I don't care if I'm playing in a war of superpowers like US vs China or if I'm playing the swiss guard fighting at the north pole or whatever. I do not care what these armies have done in real life, I want to play the game, and new guns are fun.

This is not well for the stereotypical image people outside of the US have about Americans.

frankly the OP is trolling, if you don't like these new factions don't download the mod and stay with the older versions where you do not have to deal with the nuisance of enjoying a new and hard worked on faction.

or perhaps you should stick to SP as you seem to be advising everyone.
