Here is a little test to see if anybody would like this.

Some of you may know by now that the next release of PR is going to have 3 different installers just to install the mod. It's big folks. And older systems can't handle 1 big 4gb (guessing) installer. In the past I have made an alternative installer that downloaded the mod inside a torrent system. This has worked really well for the most part. But with torrents comes some issues. Main one beaning that some ISP's block torrent traffic.

So I have looked into making a different way of getting 4gb of data downloaded in one little program.

And here it is.

Now before anybody goes mad. THIS WILL NOT INSTALL 0.95. It is not out yet.

But if you would like to test this out and let me know what you think. It would help me a lot.

Here is the installer test file.

All this will do right now is download a few files and place them in the BF2\mods folder under the folder name Oddsodz. And place some shortcuts on you desktop and start menu. When you are done. just delete them

When the full release comes out. I will have a full uninstaller added to the system.

Great news. I Have sorted out a host. So download speeds will be fast (it maxed my 2.5mb line). Thanks to Wicca for the source.

Oh, By the way. I Am also open to offers of sponsors for PR-Downloader. In versions gone by I have had sponsors deals with gameupdates.org - Download game patch, demo, trailer via BitTorrent fast for bandwidth on there torrent network.

This time I am looking for a fast direct HTTP file hosting. And in repayment. I Can have your company logo splashed around the installer and have links places on the end users desktop and star menu.

It's a win win all round.

Some ISPs block torrent services!?!?

Done...nice easter egg, didn't expect that.

Worked fine AFAIK, got a PR and a BF2 launcher shortcut no pretty icon though.

I will give you 1$ if you place my face all over the installer, deal?

They can't block encrypted torrents though can they? All you have to do is tick a box I thouhgt.

REally? So the the desktop and start menu icons were the bland standard windows ones? And not PR icons?

Yep, It were those standard white pages. The shortcuts.

Oh silly me. One missed "s" and it broke the .ico file.

OK now I have PR dogtags and some funny looking frog thing. I didn't do the Mumble install as I have it and it works so don't want to risk breaking it.

That's as it should be. Little frog thing is kind of funny. It will be changed on release. lol.

ok, some feed(back) for you
1. Once i run the downloader, the image of harrier (nice one, indeed) is only in center of my screen, not all over it. Dunno if it can be made so it will change to any resolution. My resolution is 1366x769.
2. while describing the mumble and convincing me to istall it, there is -inprove- instead of -improve-.

But its a nice idea and i will gladly use it after release
