Hello guys,
i got some problem and its beginning to really p*ss*ng me off now.
A few days ago i reinstalled my PC to Upgrade from Win Vista to Win7.
The reason for that was that i had pretty much CDT when playing.
Not i though. Wow. Nice playing without any Crash now... but nothing. i still get CDT's at anytime... sometimes earlier and sometimes later, sometimes in flight with heavy assets and sometimes when talking to my squad...
My System:
CPU: i7-920 @ 2.6ghz
Graphic: Gainward geForce GTX295
Ram: 6GB-DDR3 Kingston Valueram.
Mainboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme.
Hard Disk: Western Digital 512GB @ 5100RPM
When i Crash to Desktop i sometimes can see kind of an error in my right lower windows bar, but it dissapears to fast. Can i read it somewhere?
Ah and before i forget. I put my Virtual Ram to 9GB.
Windows is installed on C:, PR is installed on D:

I get this, too. With the new patch. I play and sometimes project reality just closes without any error message.

It has taken me nearly seven months to get W7 64 bit to run with good stability. I had to do a lot of tweaking with my BIOS settings as W7 seems to need a very stable base to work from.
The main problems I had were page file issues and system service exceptions.
Ensure all your drivers are up to date including BIOS and hardware, video, HDD, Ethernet etc. Several small problems can give you the impression of one big one.

I only updated my gpu drivers all the time and it worked fine with v0.917.
Weird that I get ctds since v0.95 so Im not sure if its really the w7 or some issue with the new update itself.
It just happened one time to me yesterday and that was on Fallujah West. I was insurgent took out my IED and then I just got back to desktop and pr was closed. No error message. I never got this before in any other game. When I get a ctd in other game it says .exe has stopped working but never without any error message.

Well everything else is running outstandingly well.I have no issues at all except for those pesky CTD's that occur totally random but usually after a good 20 to 30 minutes into the game. I have used the current W7 installation with the prior PR release too without any annoyances until now. I also see more and more packet loss which I did not have with the prior release. That gives me the impression that some sort of issue was introduced into the new release.

Yeah I have crashed to desktop every round I've played since .95 was released. Albeit it's only been 3 rounds... still annoying and most of the time it happens more than once per round.

I really tried everything. Today I played ~2 hours without a crash while running the game windowed with a lower resolution.
I start to think that it might have been the Project Reality 0957 shortcut I used because its size is 2,24kb and the other Project Reality 0917 im running it with now (it still says 0957 ingame) is 2,25kb large. There might be something missing in the 0957 shortcut.
But its just a theory Im testing it.

I am also getting the CTD and I never had a single crash in the last patch. This has got to have something to do with windows 7 and the patch. Do you think it would help if I ran the game in XP compatibility mode? Also, if I ran it in this mode would I lose the 6 gig I have as XP only uses 2 gig?
