[0957]Glassy ground.

Ehm, when I start to play a map in the latest PR everything is weird.
The ground is either white or glassy, the skybox is weird, and everything
has a graphical problem except the weapons etc.
How do I fix this?

This has been happening for ages, and certainly before 0.957.
A couple of restarts of the game usually fixes it for me.

problem is caused by win 7 aero design.
use a non areo design for your desktop and it will work.

Disable desktop composition. Right click on the pr shortcut > properties > compatibility > tick "Disable desktop composition".

Did the transparent Aero desktop turn off or not when you started the game? Try to do this to both pr.exe and bf2.exe: Right click on them and go > properties > compatibility > tick "Disable desktop composition". If it still doesn't work, tick also "Disable visual themes" from both.

Disable in-game anti-aliasing, will return your ground (or has done for the last ~10 or so people I have suggested it to).
I'm assuming that you're using a ATI/AMD based graphics card and win 7/vista, correct?

use a non aero theme!

100% sure this will work.
windows aero theme needs some DX9 things and that causes the problems.

this is impossible, but...
open terrain.con file (C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\burning_sands\server.zip) and you need this
if v_arg1 == BF2Editor
terrain.create TerrainEditable
terrain.patchSize 128
terrain.subdividePatches 1
terrain.primaryWorldScale 4/0.000915527/4
terrain.secondaryWorldScale 16/0.234375/16
terrain.patchColormapSize 512
terrain.lowDetailmapSize 512
terrain.detailmapBaseName "Levels/burning_sands/Detailmaps/tx"
terrain.lowDetailmapBaseName "Levels/burning_sands/LowDetailmaps/tx"
terrain.colormapBaseName "Levels/burning_sands/Colormaps/tx"
terrain.lightmapBaseName "Levels/burning_sands/Lightmaps/tx"
terrain.farSideTiling 2/1

terrain.farTopTilingLow 64
terrain.farYOffset 0
terrain.terrainWaterColor 0.537255/0.423529/0.313726
terrain.init
else
terrain.create Terrain
terrain.load Levels/burning_sands/terraindata.raw
