Hey I installed bf2 and it ran fine I opened it and it ran. Then I installed PR and now neither PR nor BF2 will run, they both go to a black screen and then crash to desktop with no error msg before loading. I'm running Windows 7 ult. 64 bit. Anyone know a fix for this?

Hey there, you should probably search the forums before posting, but i did it for you in this case. I'm linking you to that thread, see my post and pray it works.

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... -95-a.html 8-)

When it says:

"VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@85Hz"

Change the hertz reading to correspond the maximum your screen allows.

Nope. Nothing works. I tried:
- Video.con (I already got that file, but inside was nothing like in thread above, so I tried with it and after that only with new settings)
- +fullscreen 0
- opening in XP SP3 comp.
- opening as administrator
- install patch 1.41 and 1.50 (even though my BF2 is with 1.50)
- re-install everything so many times that I will probably dream about my serial number...
- re-install everything and open PR without opening BF2

Now I tried with Video.con with 1024x768@60Hz and... whoa! Almost. Now I got new error:
"Debug assertion fail!" bla bla bla, "Text: Texture not found: common/textures/lightning"

So... :(

You lack proper texture file. Should be downloadable from internet or someone with working file.

Hi,

I do have also Win7 Ulti 64 and a fresh install. On the first time i had the same problem.

I recommend you to follow this:
First of all make a full uninstall (PR and BF2).
Before installing anything - DO NOT INSTALL IN ANY COMPATIBILITY MODE.
1) Install BF2 and any expansion packs.
2) Install BF2 1.41 patch. (1.41 - Direct link, Extremely Fast, Gaming.Fi)
3) Install BF2 1.5 patch. (1.50 - Direct link, Extremely Fast, Gaming.Fi)
4) Install BF2 1.5 AltTab Fix (1.50 AltTab Fix - Direct link, Extremely Fast, Gaming.Fi)
5) Install PR in the right order (1of3, 2of3 and 3of3)
6) Restart PC.
7) Open BF2 in WinXP SP3 mode (without did blackscreens for me, but it doesn't mean that you get blackscreens without compatibility mode) and run as an admin and retrieve your account. Set up your video settings and close BF2.
8) Open PR and run as an admin (you may use WinXP SP3 mode, but it works without).
Go get some frags!
