Co-Op Changes

First off, I love all the work you guys have put in to make this probably the best update ever. But some of the changes for co-op have, forgive me, ruined the co-op mode. For example, on Karbala, there is not one single helicopter you can fly because they are all bot helos. On other maps, 3/4 of the helicopters you can't fly because of this same reason. This is a dumb change IMO because if (like my clan's most popular server) your co-op is players only vs. bots, then you have severely limited choices for transporting and CAS. If CO-OP is designed for training and honing your skills, then how are you supposed to train your helicopter skills on maps that either don't have any you can use, or with severely limited choices where you might not be able to snag one if everyone wants them. If you could maybe make it so there's a lot less bot helicopters and least some choices for human helicopters on all maps, that would make the mode back to the way it is, but with the other great v0.95 changes.

VR,

Vision

I must admit. I haven't played since .75 and I was bummed when I didn't see a training mode included, but it was now a Co-Op mode that really didn't offer much ability to train in the heli's and such. Kashan was such a fun training map, despite the easy ability to be a griefer on the servers with no admin support. Maybe it'll change someday!

I for one feel the same way as Vision. This has been a total bummer after such a long wait and then for us not to get the fix in the HotFix is dread man....Truly dread. This killed COOP for me, for whatever that is worth. We should get the same love you guys give big brother, so please man, for the love of everything that has ever meant anything, put COOP back together again so we can go back to happy land.

Im gonna type this in ALL CAPS

PR SP IS NOT RUINED

EDIT THE MAP IN YOUR PR FILES ITS SIMPLE

THE BOT CHOPPERS HAVE _SP AFTER THEM

EXAMPLE AHE_KIWOA_SP

JUST DELETE THE _SP AND IT WILL BE FLYABLE

Please just search the forums to figure out how to edit the maps, its very simple after the first time you do it

They mean for online coop play, you cant edit the files and then play online. I agree with them, if there are people out there who just play offline by themselves, then they can edit the files so bots can fly and they have one helo for themselves. btw, be a little more formal next time.

Is it just the SP part? I remember in the older builds (0.87) I checked in the Objects_Server and edited a few vehicles to try out the MH-6_SP, it was flyable then...

I believe that's against the licensing rules.

Im just trying to spread the word, about 75% of the people who play PR do not know how to edit the maps, they should make a dedicated foruum for map editing so everyone can learn how to do it.

I also think that the DEVs edited the choppers on purpose because they want more people to learn how to edit the maps and get more practice flying in choppers offline before they go online and fly a chopper they have only 10 minutes in at most if they havent flown for a long time.

Why would they add the extra step of making you edit files?

Listen, its the way it is because to me it comes down to two groups of people who play COOP. You have one group who plays online with friends as a way to train or have fun, and another group who play offline by themselves like me.

Now if on Kashan for example, they put more player friendly helicopters, the people who play by themselves who dont know how to edit maps will be displeased because their bots are crashing helos left and right. On the other hand, they put more bot friendly helos, you get this, people who CAN'T edit the files because they play online, and are playing with unrealistic helicopters with the wrong flight physics and speeds.

What we need to do, is put more player friendly helos and vehicles and for those who wanna play alone, they can make a seperate PR like me and mod the hell out of it, or just switch the vehicles and blah blah blah. And for those who dont wanna go through that or dont have enough sapce. Well sorry I have no idea at the moment :-(

EDIT: btw they already have this section, with derections in it im pretty sure. something about modding your prsp in community modding

Continue as things were and it will be fine...COOP was perfect with 0.917, we just want it to continue the same with 0.957, but without all these weird changes.
Nobody has ever asked us what we think and we were the 3rd COOP Server in existence! We're still here and willing to contribute if it helps to improve game play for everyone.
There is total confusion between COOP and TRAINING and this is where it all begins.
COOP is not training, we don't play it as training and it is some serious gaming.
Bots are way more lethal than humans and they usually don't miss. Our team play and tactics work great with this type of gaming.
Yes, the AI do-do (< lol heh) stupid shit, but they put up a good fight more often than not.
As for TRAINING in our Servers, we had to create a Training Server just so people could get used to this style of game play. People shouldn't be joining COOP servers learning to fly, drive, etc...We're not a test range. We have provided a Server for that purpose, only because there isn't one. We don't want trainee's or guys looking to learn in our "Main" COOP Servers, we want serious gamers, just like you do when playing in the Deployment Servers.

Not to sound malicious but you set your co-op server up to reject new players wanting to learn? That seems contrary to what everyone else tells new players to do "Join co-op and learn to use assets" has been a kick message for countless players in normal servers. I guess you kick asset wasters telling them to...what? I don't understand how a new player is supposed to learn how to play let alone become an effective pilot/crewman if the co-op mode is to be used for serious games only?

Granted it's your server, and you can do with it as you see fit, but I sense your rules would only drive new prospects away from practicing their respective fields.

Read my post again...I clearly state we prove a TRAINING SERVER

Agreed with most of these posts.
You DEV's removed training because it was full of people spawn-camping and teamkilling. Then COOP was added to replace that, people call it training but veterans-gaming, with FULL servers everyday play properly, just because we are not a deployment clan doesn't mean we don't play properly, Yes BOT's do not act properly most of the time, If they get the chance you WILL be dead. Just please put COOP back to how it was in .917 so everyone is happy.
Murphy, As stated Veterans-gaming PROVIDE a TRAINING server where you can train. When you feel happy that you can do something then join are Regular COOP where the fun but serious gameplay is.

yes i love the new patch but those bot vehicles are really really annoying i mean why can we fly the new kiowa on karbala we should be able to drive anything we want on COOP so why should we be treated differently than "deployment" users 99% of my gaming is on the veterans-gaming server cuz shooting sensless bots is soo fun cuz they dont whine and b!tch when you shotgun them in the face so please fix that problem please

With regards to this post, I would like to make it clear, we do welcome those new to PR in our servers, we are a great place to learn PR and how to play it the correct way. We have the most fun while doing this so please don't misunderstand. We're speaking of the people who just come around, wreck everything, leave and repeat. If that's you...Piss off to the training server!

How is it not practical? Would you rather have bots crashing helicopters left and right? they are almost vital to playing coop because without it, the bots are that much more ineffective. Just because your on coop and you dont get a helicopter then tough luck. Yes I agree that you should have more helicopters since it is now for training, but those helicopters are needed for those who actually play by themselves, on local servers like me.

Now im still siding with you guys since I am able to mod my pr easily, as im used to it. But there are people out there who cant and we need to keep them in mind. You cantt be selfish and say "Oh well you should know how to mod it anyway." Ill tell you waht, I was very annoyed when I got answers like that when I started out modding. We need to find a solution that caters to everybody's needs.

Bots cant fly regular human edited vehicles properly so its
A. bots not using vehicles properly and having AI only on the ground
B. humans not being able to train on vehicles that are the same as online
C. the way it is now where its a mixture.

Maybe some of the maps just didn't get the proper tweaking to have a balanced amount of each...
