Okay,
Just installed PR .957 today via torrent. Installed fine. I restarted, then ran PR from the shortcut on my desktop. The PR splash pops up, the BF2 splash right after, screen goes black then CTD's.

And, Vanilla won't start. I have the BF2 Complete Collection.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you are supposed to have a vanilla splash screen show up.
Try to run from the icons in the start menu?
also-- right click-choose run as administrator..?

I shouldn't have to Run as Administrator because I turned off the UAC. I'll try anyway.

EDIT: Uninstalled Vanilla and PR, reinstalled both, ran as administrator, still crashes. I ran directly from pr.exe, and vanilla splashscreen still popped up, didn't work.

I paid attention to the loading. I do not get a vanilla splash screen. at all. I get the small PR splash, then to full screen BSS logo stuff.

A common fix for alot of issues is to delete the BF2 folders
Try deleting you cache folders.

Go to:

Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> mods -> bf2 -> cache

and delete everything in that folder

I checked in my Documents, but there was no cache. There wasn't even a mod folder.

So, just to be sure you didn't mistype, I checked program files. No cache folder either.

Thanks for the help so far guys.
