Are they under the ROE? The guide says Insurgent/Hamas who are unarmed are part of the ROE so does it include taliban troops?

Hama's Have no unarmed medics. So i dont think they fall under that rule. Insurgents however do.

He's talking about if a taliban drops his kit, does he get protection under the ROE.
That's a good question. I would have to guess no, since it's not intended for that to happen.

No. All Taliban are free fire, and don't even think for a second about 'taking him hostage', kill him outright and save yourself alotta trouble.

They're fine to kill, but really, so are Ins/Hamas collaborators - you're hurting the other team a lot more than you're hurting your team by killing them.
In real life a Taliban fighter without a weapon is protected by ROE. That's a well known feature of the fight there.

Explain how this is hurting them more:
A 30 second spawn for the civi
Not having "intel" on a position
vs
Civilian collaborator killed (violating rules of engagement): -10 IP
Shooting a civilian collaborator outside of the rules of engagement (ROE).
After your next death you will respawn 120 seconds later per civilian shot
(stacks up to 5 minutes additional delay)
You will not be able to request any kits for 10 minutes
Your score is reduced to 0 and the kill will not be listed on the scoreboard
Your team loses 10 intelligence points

You forgot the fact that the civilian can spy you, which could result in mortars falling on your head.
However, I still support not shooting civilians. Their special status is a gameplay element that shouldn't be ignored just because it's easy.

Try warning shots, their vision go blurry and they may relocate/keep their head down.

Well, you could always go and shotgun a civi... rush him and block him with fast moving vehicles such as Mercedes, HMMWVs, Strykers...

Nothing worse than having half your squad run off and get killed just trying to make an arrest. I try not to ignore ROE. but if it means my squad losing their stealth then he's gonna die!!!

I agree. If he even looks like he has the intention of hurting my guys, blast him.

I think it's funny how last night on Kokan, several taliban-players dropped their kit and raised their hands so they looked like civilians.

Wow, I had no idea the ramifications of shooting a civi.
I like the idea of preserving the ROE for game play realism alone, but those reason help make up my mind.
The suggestion of suppressing a civi is a good one, but not at the expense of stealth. I doubt they will retreat though, but at least it blocks vision. Will give this a try next time out.
