"you cannot operate this vehicle position"

it gives me that when trying to fly a huey or a cobra, even with pilot kit. what am i doing wrong? says nothing in the manual.

Can you be more specific?

If this is in co-op, the devs have removed the ability for human players to drive/fly Bot Vehicles, you may only be in the co-pilot/gunner seat.

short sum up is, as element said some of the vehicles r bot only so they can operate them accuratly but in some maps there are all aircrafts bot only but will be fixed in some of the next patches.

Bots operate them the same way they did as before, just now players can't use them.

The only bot-orientated vehicles that had substantial differences in handling, performance and load-outs were the jets. The discrepancy between helicopter versions was relatively subtle.

Snazz, that's not true, I've noticed significant changes to how the ai use the apache, it allows for much better use of the gunner, even if it does fire a few hydras into the air every now and then, it's a big improvement to how it was

I'm going to be blunt. I have no idea what the PR devs were thinking Bot locking air craft only throughly annoys coop players and makes everything so much more difficult. especially how a lot of servers don't have bots on the friendly team. Like 3/75. Or other servers. anyway you guys think they'll reverse this?

They eventually will, You have to give them time, Co-Op is for the people who just want to have fun with other people while slaughtering bots without the bots complaining, They have to work out the bugs in the "deployment" mode, besides, you should ask the PRSP Devs (If I'm correct), and they should have an answer for you.

So how am I supposed to practice flying then?

The deployment servers tend to frown upon training there + the respawn takes for ever.

Just because you only noticed something now doesn't mean it's new, the bots have always had varied effectiveness with the attack helicopters. Sometimes they just get shot down right away and other times they're able to do some reasonable strafing runs first.

There is no mention in any blog, highlight or changelog of improvements to AI for 0.95. The bots are generally the same as they were in BF2, that's why they need their own special vanilla style assets.

Besides the above, how the bots use assets has nothing to do with whether players can enter them as well.

Not true, bots can't fly the multiplayer aircraft properly due to the difference in how the engine portrays aircraft as and what pr has stuck in front of the engine.
put it like this:
PR goes up to the bots and gives them fish n chips. The engine doesn't like fish though, so the bots just eat the chips and leave the fish. In a nutshell, bots haven' been 'trained' to fly the mp aircraft because they can't be, it's hardcoded.

If bots and players share the same set of aircraft, the pr team would be restrained by the bots' abilities and coop players would complain that the damned bots are stealing our vehicles.

True, but some maps have strictly no air support available to human players. Such as Karbala and a few others.

Yes, and that wasn't intentional, they've fixed it, or are fixing it for the next release :)

That doesn't prove anything, changes to COOP maps and changes to AI are different things completely.

I never said bots could operate multiplayer assets, that's irrelevant.

You're also contradicting yourself. You say now the way AI use assets is hardcoded, yet you claimed that it has improved in 0.95.

PR COOP is already and will always be restrained by the bots' abilities. Which remain the same regardless of whether players can use singleplayer assets or not.

Bots didn't steal multiplayer aircraft in 0.9.

COOP players have lost over half their aircraft to bots in 0.95.

On the main COOP servers there are no bots on the same team as players.
