before you guys post anything here, my last thread go drowned by other people using different computers and different versions of windows posting "i got the same error".

this thread is about my CDT so please dont post in here that you have the same problem, you can read what the people suggest to do, and do it then. but dont post here: "i got the same problem since 0.95" because i have this problem since about 0.8. and on two different Windows versions.

Thanks

Hello guys,

i got some problem and its beginning to really p*ss*ng me off now.

A few days ago i reinstalled my PC to Upgrade from Win Vista to Win7.

The reason for that was that i had pretty much CDT when playing.

Not i though. Wow. Nice playing without any Crash now... but nothing. i still get CDT's at anytime... sometimes earlier and sometimes later, sometimes in flight with heavy assets and sometimes when talking to my squad...

My System:

CPU: i7-920 @ 2.6ghz
Graphic: Gainward geForce GTX295
Ram: 6GB-DDR3 Kingston Valueram.
Mainboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme.
Hard Disk: Western Digital 512GB @ 5100RPM

When i Crash to Desktop i sometimes can see kind of an error in my right lower windows bar, but it dissapears to fast. Can i read it somewhere?

Ah and before i forget. I put my Virtual Ram to 9GB.

Windows is installed on C:, PR is installed on D:

Also i cleared out my prError.log because i want to upload it but its to bit with 474kb....

i will attach it later.

error in the lower right corner suggest a "tooltip"-bubble. You can either try to find it by clicking on the "Action Center" icon (White Flag) or maybe by going into "Event Viewer" (System or Application events) or "Reliability Monitor".

This bubble makes me think that maybe your gfx is crashing. Make sure alll your drivers are up-to-date. Use Manufacturer drivers (i.e. NVIDIA), the "Windows Update" ones are insufficient for gaming.

Did you try running in windowed mode to receive an error message, yet?

Scorpac - Understand this because people posted in your last thread it stopped the thread from disappearing from the front page and kept it more active. I really don't see a problem posting in your thread if people are having the same problems as you, it's a community of people here who are trying to work a problem out. Whats the point in having tifteen diffrent threads all saying that they are having CTD?

I also noted in your last thread that some people have tried to help. However, you have not said if you have tried their suggestions.

its because every computer is unique. on my computer the problem can be caused by a hardware problem. if somebody else posts that he also has the problem but using a different operating system and other specs its not the same problem... i hope you understand that.

i found the way to this forum and discribed my problem, and i dont want people posting in my thred "got the same problem since 0.95". the reason is that i have this problem since a pretty much longer time. and i still have it when i changed my operating system. and its pretty disturbing if people come in and pull the attention away from the main problem

OP: Thanks for contributing to trying to solve this error.

There are two types of CTD error as far as i can determine, one drops BF2 to the menu bar, and can be re-switched to fullscreeen again, and the other is a total CTD.
as i've been trying to get it to CTD on demand, so i'm going to try a variety of drivers.

This error is the last part of the latter (fatal) kind of error. Earlier portions of this error refer to video.con being in use by another process, and those type of conflicts often cause CTD's.

(from prerror.log)
-
Error in writing screen aspect ratio file: c:\program files (x86)\ea games\battlefield 2\mods\pr\

Can i ask please the OP and those who want to actively help to post exactly their GFX card and driver versions?

Mine is 8800GTX with 258.96 Intl. Forceware

- Drivers aside, it sounds like a permissions issue to me.
