Not sure when this started happening, but here's the rundown.

Boot up PR, join a game, when I connect I usually don't even get to the spawn screen but get a "You lost connection to the server".

So I join again. By this time I'll be able to join a squad, run around a bit before I get a "There is a Problem with your Connection" message slowing the game that will last in duration upwards of about 3 seconds, before it goes away. It will then come up 2-3seconds later. This cycle repeats to the point where it is impossible to play.

So thats the first question that I'm looking for some guidance on.

The kicker, is that when I get fed up and exit out of game, I'll usually have a Window's Explorer error.. something that says it's stopping this program, do you want to send a report to Microsoft blah blah blah. I say no, and then my whole desktop goes blank - taskbar, icons everything.... except for RocketDock. Give it about 45seconds and then everything pops back up as usual.

Really have no idea what the hell is going on so any advice/guidance would be appreciated.

If I haven't "searched" thoroughly enough, apologies as well, wasn't really sure what to 'search" for.

Sounds like either a router problem or a malware infection..
-Are you on a wireless network?
-Have you scanned your system for vira and malware recently?

Check with system services that PunkBuster "B" is set to auto restart.
When's the last time you updater PB? Should be the first thing to check after any problems

well I just set my Punkbuster B and A to restart after failure etc. will see if it gets better.

Yes I am on a wireless connection.
Yes I have scanned/deleted malware/viruses (Spybot S/D, and Malwarebytes/Anti-Malware).

I might just disk defrag my whole computer again and then delete PR all over and reinstall it.

Try disabling VOIP, see if that fixes the connection lost message.
There might be a router security setting which reduces traffic because it thinks it's being spammed maliciously. Have a look into the router logs.

If and where your router saves the logs totally depends on the router brand/model. Your best off checking the manual.
However clicking through the router's administraion area might just show you what you are looking for.

ok and if I find it, what exactly am I looking for?

before you do all that I'd recommend trying to connect to the internet via cable if you are able to do so. just to isolate the problem and see if it is in fact the router thtat's the problem.
