Basrah water crossing.

I not sure if its ment to be that the water crossing was removed (since the support bridges are in game), but it seemed so and that not the problem. But if it is so, there is still one on Bashra down in around C 8 i think, not sure, but its on that small dessert island thing to the south. I found it here the other day, and i dont know if its ment to be there but i would just give you the heads up on it.
other than that good work guys, keep it up

It is still there, in fact, the whole river is really really shallow now, pretty much negating the need for CSB's except for putting them on bridges, which even then is pointless as they are really bugged (falling through them on Jabal etc.)
The water is really shallow on Basrah but it looks like its deep as you can't see through the water, meaning its a placed waterplane IIRC.

By the 2 CSB emplacement down in the right corner you can just pass the river near them, so no need of CSB right now, would be fun to have those rivers deeper and the CSB fixed to avoid passing trough.

I've never fallen through a CSB, they have a 100% success rate.
I've used a CSB once.

I've never even had a chance to see one of these in-game. I don't know if they're possibly too specialized and I just haven't encountered any situations need them, or if they're just to new and no one has become accustomed to using them.

A little bit better of a description to where is is would help as they are all meant to be removed.

If you have experienced a proper bug with the CSBs you should report it, but if your just saying you have fallen off them that's a different matter.
As for the shallow water on basrah, it should be deep enough to make it so you can't cross with a normal vehicle. If you can then that's a bug. Are you saying the entire strech of the river is fordable or just little bits and if little bits, where and if the entire river, how?

The CSB in F6K2 (west of VCP) on Al Basrah has two bugs.
Firstly it is nigh impossible to cross safely in the Challenger 2 as the up and then downwards slope of the west side means you have to have full throttle on for several seconds before you just launch yourself at it and pray for the best. The other way crossing east to west is impossible as your tank is magically pulled uphill to the right (north) away from the bridge as though your hitting a wall and is impossible to approach and line up correctly. By some act of divine intervention you do cross the upslope on the opposite bank is difficult to get up and very risky. This might be due to the C2's physics but the bridge is in an unsound position given the approach and exit on both sides (videos are available I'll try to upload later).
Secondly there is a minor bug in that the bridge can be built in one deployment from the east side with the west side magically appearing after a few seconds or two deployments from the west side. Other bridges I've look at take two on both sides and have the second part floating in air typically if a support hasn't yet been deployed.

I crossed the west river and and F3 landbridge (former coordinates)
without a problem.
I even parked it in the river, jumped out, jumped back in and still made it to the other side.
I was wondering about this, but thought you might have reasons to make it this way.
Sorry, I can't provide proper coordinates or screenshots.
Happened some weeks ago and I am not at home right now.
Just test it, you will find it quickly.

Did you actually sunk the landbridge terrain to prevent crossing?
I'm wondering, because the heightmap hasn't been touched since 2007...

Jesus.
The landbridge is a Fjord (sp?) to the west of the town on Basrah. It's pretty easy to see.

i saw a couple of insurgents in a blue car driving over and back accross what was defenitly not what i would consider to be an al basra land bridge. basically most of the village's western horizontal river can be traversed easily enough, just tap sprint while you cross it.

ya rhino...u can still cross on the same Eastern landbridge without noticeable damage. and to the west, past the western indestructible bridge, just west of the center csb placement i think, it is shallow enough to cross with out damage. tested 10min ago with ammo techi. also....the farthest Eastward bridge North of refinery heading to the barren land mass East of refinery and island...is that bridge suppose to be indestructible? cuz i put 2 arty ied's on it and it didnt go down.

No, as far as I have seen they replaced these bridge elements with indestructible versions.
Probably to reduce destroyable objects.
And while we are at Al Basrah changes: They removed all caches from the fields. Might be good to know

A Fjord :
A Ford :
See
fordable Spelt just like your name, happy to help
But I find most people refer to these in game as land bridges, first time I noticed the one on Basrah was missing my techy was in up to its roof, a heads up on this might have been nice

Some pictures of where you can ford the rivers would be really good if you can guys, preferably with a vehicle in them if they are shallow enough

Just had a drive around with a Rover Rhino, pics coming.

Red: Raised terrain where vehicles have always been able to cross
Yellow: Thin parts of river which are easily sped over.

Northern ford.

humm ye, thought I lowered thous bits... So either I didn't lower them anything like as much as I needed to or it was never uploaded or reverted some how...
EDIT: yep it was reverted by mistake by some nubby dev who was learning how to use the repo at the time and screwed up a few things *cough* rudd *cough*
Will fix it
EDIT: Fixed for the next client update
