Quinling UK Airfield

In the last few months I decided to have a go at flying all airborne vehicles using a joystick, so after much crashing and swearing on local deployment I finally got reasonably good at it. My gripe is this: The jets are very 'lazy' when it comes to slowing down(as is in real life) so it takes a while of flying in friendly airspace to get the speed down enough to land safely in a jet. Trouble with this is that Quinling's UK final approach route has a bloody great hill in the way. There are times when I can still land but this isn't very common.

So I ask this: is this just an issue of not enough practice, or are other people having this same trouble?

The hill is not the issue, its the goddamn trees that are placed at the start of the effin runway that are a little bit disconcerning to me... Lol, but that whole map is screwed up for the jets. Once ur up in the air all you see is white, and although the eurofighter has been touched up, the tornado has not, and you CANNOT see any of the markers on ur HUD, making landings based on feel rather than what speed ur going at.... you cant see the spedometer or altitude meter. Also with the change in no 3d markers, when ur dive bombing.. well you cant tell whats up or down because everything is just white and the HUD markers dont show you up from down... In short, there are bigger issues to deal with in the jets than that. I do agree they are bitchin fast though on that map... too fast... it takes me two map lenghts to slow down there, lol, and the rep station not being on the runway... is annoying...

Humm, hadn't realized that the Tornado HUD has problems, must be with it getting the OPK HUD and that not being coded properly to show up on the white background.

As for the issues with the runways, the hill isn't in the flight path of the runway on a direct approach, use your compass and minimap to line yourself up and then that hill is a good reference on landing. As for the trees, they are not a problem as long as you flare in, they are actually quite far away from the lower runway so only if your going strait in will you have a problem, if you glide in you shouldn't have any issues.

The Qinling runways where never very good but they are functional.

Ehh, landings are fine once you get the hang of it, the trees iv managed to avoid for now, the HUD though... that definitely needs to be looked at, glad you caught that here. Any way of making a dashed marking on the bottom and a regular line on top on the HUD to distinguish top from bottom on the HUD? There are too many clouds set up in the horizon in the sky (The non movable clouds) and when flying all you see is pure white everywhere making flying dive bombings very weird lol.

Here you see solid lines on top, and dashed at bottom
