Just wondering if only having 2gig of ram will make my PR experience unstable since the new release, and is a cause of my crash to desktops? Also if anyone knows, is it true that whatever ram your graphics card has its uses an equal amount of system ram? If thats true it means in down to 1.5 gig, then with windows and everything else running I probably got less than 1gig for the game itself. Im running on lowest settings, and some days its fine and can play for hours, other days can play for 5 mins.

Hey, do you have Xfire?
If so turn it off.
It finds a way to lag anything related to BF2 mods.
Try it.

I have 2gb and used to have XP, now Win7, and the game runs fine.
I get the occaisional memory error and CTD. You either have an underlying issue with your RAM or other parts of your PC so post up your specs.

Also, I don't think that bit about GFX memory and system memory is true, someone else might have more insight into that though.

If you're having trouble with low performance try a program called Gamebooster. It might give you a little bit of an extra kick.

What you are refering to is called "shared memory" and applies to onboard or integrated (into the mainboard) graphics cards. (i.e. in laptops, cheap desktop pcs)

With 2 GB you are pushing the (peak performance) limits of your PC and even if the game is not crashing you probably experience some stuttering due to "hard faults". Your PC will usually resort to using the pagefile when it runs out of system RAM. unless your HDD is also full (and badly fragmented) your game should still run (at least) stable.

You can free up ram by closing all unnecessary processes and programs.

A side note: a laptop is not a gaming PC so do not expect it to behave like on. Overheating is usually a serious issue here and can cause crashes as well.

NVIDIA GeForce Gt 320 2gb

I run everything maxed out, I haven't experienced lagg and have never crashed.
2gb of ram is enough but wont be able to run everything high. you might need to tone stuff down to run smooth.
