I've used the PKM as like my favorite weapon, but after looking on the internet for many pictures of the real thing, I've noticed many things: The front sight isn't actually a full hood, it's more like the AK-74's front sight, and the weapon's handgrip is usually painted brown. So what would you like to see replace the PKM for this game? (if this could be made into a poll that would be great).

1. A new model PKM with realistic features, and mountable scope.
2. A Pecheneg with a mountable scope

Pretty sure a Pecheneg is in the works.

Id like to see a more modern varient of it like this:

Ive also seen them in videos being used by Russian military in Dagestan, Chechnya, and Ossetia with various different kinds of scopes and red dot sights. So Id like to see that too, especially for the russian AR kit because it looks weird right now when you sight in the weapon and it magically zooms in.

Also, Id like to see the chinese version, the Type 88:

But they already have the QBB-95 so its not a big deal.

Plus, how the hell would you fire the Pecheneg in game undeployed? There's no handguard, and the bipod is placed way up under the muzzle so you really can't use it.

Why not both

New PKM, not the Pecheneg, which, unless my memory fails me, is only issued to the Spetsnaz and possibly MotI troops.

Pretty sure the PR team has their military advisers from Russia itself. I think they know what they're doing.

RPD isn't used by Russia anyway, hasn't been for years... Maybe for the Militia.

The pistol grip is not "painted." That is just what the pistol grip is made of.

I would like to see better-looking(more "russian red") furnitures.

Honestly the current PKM model is pretty good, there is no way that the unconvetional factions should lose it to another weapon (RPD etc.)

A PKP would be great for the Russians as it would finally give them a scope to use.

People, I've noted many things you are simply ignoring:

Dtacs, The PKM CAN use a scope. there's a mount on the left side of the receiver for mounting a variety of optics that can also be used by the Pecheneg. Imchicken1, I made two specific choices: PKM with realistic features OR Pecheneg. That's it.

Agreed. Current model is great but IMO the sound could be little louder. It's kinda flat now.

The model is very blocky and there are very few details that stand out. imo it just looks bad
vBF2 model isnt it?

This is the vBF2 model. Took it from the objects folder. Ford is right that it isn't very detailed after all. Maybe re-texture and new sounds? Still the PKM as a gun is the right option for unconventional factions.

No, it cant, there are very few PKMNs with a mount for scopes in relation to usual PKMs without it. You can say that every AK-74 has a scope mount and will be as wrong, as in this case.
