hey guys, last night amidst a PR game, my computer crashed to the blue screen of death and said "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" as the error. i restarted the comp, then started playing again bvut then about 20 minutes later it did the exact same thing again. i notice this only happens when i play PR, and suggestions?! help!

what's your graphical settings and your computer specs? more information is better.

i have an XPS 9000, with a Radeon 5870 HD card, all graphics are set to high, antiailisaing is set to 8x. 2 tbs of memory, etc.

okay so it turns out, the BSOD on happends when i play on the map Lashkar valley, anyone help?

Try using registry cleaner! It might fix your problem. but If you want a permanent solution, buy a new RAM for your pc.

By any chance is your game profile corrupted e.g. graphics settings lost the next time you launch PR?

Keep on getting a BSOD at random on a pretty stable PC build now and the fault is due to a spanner being thrown in the works of the BF2 game profile during game which is then utterly corrupted with the lost of graphics, audio and control settings etc next time round.

The other thing that is recommended is for you to run a memory diagnostic tool at boot such as memtest x86. Although in my case that doesn't appear to be an issue and still a BSOD page fault and insta PR crash...and again to emphasise outside of PR I've never had a BSOD on this (newer) PC build even after benchmarking and playing considerably more demanding games for hours on end.

what about your audio? lots of problems with creative audio.. check out other topic, no solution yet

YES! sometimes when i log back into PR all my graphics settings are back to default, how do i fix this? im kinda a noob when it comes to scanning, cleaning etc...

Creative audio problem...only with the mod. no solution from devs.

so under sound settings i should select "hardware" or whatever instead of Creative sound?

This, I believe, is an XFI card / Win 7 (Or Vista) / BF2 sounds at ULTRA crash.

I can confirm hereby the BSOD problem, i have this problem since the update to 0.957.

Happens for me only when the server is switching to a new map.
So i can play for hours when the map is loaded.
Same error as for pstennisace.

Does not happens always and it seems related to the map.
Lashkar valley is indeed the map where i see it most!

Using Win 7 Ent. - 64 bit.

Me and my mate got a BSOD at the same moment ingame.

We both use Win 7 Prof, Highest Graphics Settings and an Creative X-Fi Gamer (Fatality Edition for me).

Should we reduce the Sound Quality or something like that?
