Hello guys!
So here is the deal. When I start PR I get the first screen (the little picture). That is up on my screen for few seconds and then it disepears but the game doesn't start.
I can run and play BF2 tho. But I have a similar problem with company of heroes online.
Maybe it's because I've reinstalled windows? Before the reinstallment of the windows it worked fine.

I have EXACTLY the same problem.

Tried running it as Admin and in Windows XP Compatibility Mode Pack 2.

No luck

It doesn't even give me no error message. I start the game, see the Project Reality dog tags loading screen, then my screen goes black for like 3 seconds, as if to start the game, but it doesn't start, just crashes!

same problem here, since today:
I got a new TFT, Samsung 2233rz, I also try to start it with my old screen resolution (1280x1024@60hz) but it didnt start either.....

this is what i get in window mode. i try to use a standard cfg.

I have the exact same problem. I don't know what to do.

Okay, so I've played with the Vanilla BF2 for a few minutes (I didn't even touch it before), then I restarted the PC. Then I opened PR.exe with admin privileges and it worked. Go figure.

Hey guys, i had the same problem. The prob was the 1.5 patch. i suggest uninstalling PR/bf2. reinstall and download the 1.5 patch. install bf2,1.41 1.5 then pr. And if you're having a problem with the game resolution, add this to your target.

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080
depending on your resolution

should look like this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080

There is no need to put fullscreen and menu twice.

it was needed for me. i did it and didn't work. i put twice and it works.

Just so you know guys, I had this too. I ran PR from the PR.exe [mods] folder instead of the shortcut and it works fine. Not sure why.

I'm also encountering this issue. I've tried the methods stated above and still no go. It might be worth noting that until I installed PR BF2 launched just fine, however after installing PR I encounter the same problem when trying to launch vanilla BF2.

Not sure, but if you're playing on Vista/7, try launching the game with a right click on the shortcut, and launch with admin privileges. I think that's what fixed the problem for me.

I've tried running it with administrative properties and still no go. Thanks though. Also yes I should have mentioned I'm running Win 7 64bit.

Hey guys was having the same problems with PR not starting, fired up BF2 to play a round, got in game, didn't really like the map so I quit & tried PR again and it worked, try it, might work for you too, good luck.

I was able to fix the update by downloading a different copy of the game which allowed me to patch up from vanila to 1.4 to 1.41 and then to 1.5. Then after installing PR it worked fine.

I just installed Win 7 64bit and am having the same problem. I installed patch 1.41 then 1.5 and PR won't open. Vanilla works fine. Will download 1.4 then patch to 1.41 and see if it works.

Hi All I could get BF2 & PR to start but not VOIP. Tried everything. Contacted EA Games and they say games are not compatable with Win7.
Any ideas please?

I had the same problem about a week ago when I installed Win7.

If you're using an executable it probably won't work, I downloaded two seperate ones but it didn't work so I had to torrent (LEGALLY) a .rar of 1.5. You should be able to get a torrent/magnet link off of EA, or gamershell.com or something.

- Turn UAC Off
- Make sure in your Audio.con of your profile that...

- Turn off VOIP Communications Sound Reduction (in Control Panel->Sound->Communication)
- Make sure your Microphone isn't muted/low level in the above Sound Menu under "Recording Devices"

Im deep in the shit here guys, my regular BF2 reacts the same, so can't fix it, even tried reinstalling from scratch, no difference...

Okay guys, i went onto other BF2 forums and found a solution for my problem

The following actions resolved my issue:
1. Delete the folder "C:\Users\<login name>\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\"
2. Delete the file "Video.con" in your BF2 profile folder, for me it is "C:\Users\<login name>\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002\"

After you login to BattleField 2, update your display settings as required.
