Right now im runiing old POS:

AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.2ghz

Radeon x800XL 256mb,256-bit

1GB 333mhz DDR.

I am only gettin like 15-20 FPS in game on low settings, but i can play BF2 on high with liek 50 FPS.

Would upgrading to 2GB help my FPS a lot in PR?

What OS are you running? Also go for 4gb rather than 2GB. It will make you load quicker and help with the more memory heavy maps.

Im on a very old motherboard, only supports 2 gb otherwise i would, running XP 32 bit. but im gettin 20 FPS now. they will go up wioth the 2 gigs? cuz i cant play with it so choppy n i LOVE PR

You will quite a big difference with 2gb. It just makes the small annoying things go away a bit, i.e the lagg at the start of rounds etc and load times will decrease, but dont expect it you really let you play on the next level of settings at all.

i dont care what setings are at, i just want more than 15-20 frames per second. and if i play at all medium, i get same FPS as LOW. x800XL 256 mb 256 bit isnt that bad for PR

It'll help, but if you have you room for a new card, that will help more then upgrading your ram.

More RAM is always good RAM

I might be wrong but afaik ram does not improve FPS...it does improve loadings and jitter, small lock ups, but fps you will need a better cpu and vga

well actually that aint totally true, the ram can work as a lockup of texture loading which the computer will try and compensate for. the cpu/gpu might be able to pull more fps, but the ram is working as a bottleneck.

and not sure if your motherboard is really so old that it can't support more than 2gb ram. it might only be able to provide you with 1 or 2 slots of ram (but the blocks you put in, can be from 512mb-4gb)

OP may be like me: have a motherboard that only supports DDR1...lol (unless there are 2gb single DDR1 sticks).

I checked the specs, can only support 1GB per slot, and it only has 2 slots. its AGP so no reason for me to upgrade video even more cuz AGP cards cost so much, and this CPU is the best on ei can get for the MOBO. So only thing i can do is get 1 more GB RAM withouth rebuilding whole PC. for chritmas im gettin Phenom II 955, 4 gigs 1600MHZ, and radeon 6850. so i only have to hold out 2 more months

id just hold out for 2 months if i where you, DDR ram costs so much, i was thinking of doing it till i got my new computer

Win XP Professional 32

I just upgraded to an ati radeon 5770 for $130 (including $20 rebate) from newegg.com. From a nvidia 8600 gts.

I would definitely get another gigabyte of ram. Not only would it help with your gaming, but everything else as well like browser load times, windows load times and blah blah.

Heck, if you can afford it at the same time I would seriously consider upgrading to a better video card. It will help a lot with frame rate and load.

Altogether you could get both for around $170 or so.
