This system is just a one step process to install and play Project Reality. See the video for how it works if you are not sure.



This really is the simplest and fastest way to install and play. Download times as very fast. On my home line of 20/mb. Download time is about 30 minutes. So the speed is very good.

Below is for R-DEVs so they know what and how it works

Not tested on "Steam"
On run checks for dot.net version 2. If not version 2, installs 3.5
Adds PR registry keys for "Black Sands Studio" and keys for install path and uninstall
Adds registry keys for PR version
checks registry for BF2 install folder
Downloads 7 zip files to mods\pr folder
unzips 7 zip files to mods\pr folder with all game files
Adds Desktop and StartMenu icons for launching the mod
Delete "user" Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cashe folder so that new shaders will be made on mod start up (XP/Vista/Win7 tested)
copy of the BF21.5 hotfix for alt-tab to the main BF2 folder
End user has the choice of installing Mumble
Adds "Windows" Add/remove program entry for uninstalling

how fast is it?

In my tests. I Would do a full install in about 30 minutes or so. It Maxed out my 20 meg line

No need to bump it as 99% of people on the forum already have PR installed.

Might want to advertise it on moddb or something where prospective players will get it.

I Know. But as I plan to update this tread when the next patch/build comes out. I Just keeps the idea there.

Plus, It's don't hurt anybody.

Just a little bumping to tell you all that PR-Downloader is "Winter Map pack 2010" compatible.
