Okay so I'm not really sure what to call it. Basically, I reinstalled windows updated all my drivers and what not, I installed PR 9.957 and I go to launch my game, the picture with the dog tags comes up, 30 seconds goes by and the picture disappears and my game doesn't launch.

Stuff I've done so far to fix my issue is

- restart computer
- reinstall PR
- Cussed a bit

This is really frustrating, if you guys can help, its greatly appreciated

Post Specs?

Jones try running regular BF2 first then try turning on PR. McCartney and I were having the same problem. Then we did that then it seemed to reset something and it ran PR after that.

I tried that, BF2 wont launch either, with PR the screen comes up and its done, the "PR" screen with dog tags, BF2 actually goes black and then goes back to my desktop. my specs are

AMD althon 64bit X2 processer 5200+ 2.71GHz
2 GB RAM
Win xp home edition
320GB HD
nVidea Geforce 9500 GT
Realtek Audio HD sound

am I missing anything?

Uninstall your GPU drivers and install them again.

K so I reinstalled, and nothings changed, also, when I launch PR, the BF2 window comes up aswell as PR. :S

Now to be sure, your PC is recognizing your Card correct?

yeah I can pull up my NVIDIA Control panel and stuff...

any specific company, eg Sparkle, Asus...etc?

yeah, the company is asus

It only happened after I reformatted my PC ... it worked a week ago

I used to have this issue as well, very frustrating.

The eventual solution which I got off a different BF2 forum was to delete your "\My Documents\Battlefield 2\" folder completely, then run normal BF2 and retrieve your account. You'll lose all your keybindings and stuff but FINALLY it started up just fine for me. Such a relief.

I hope it solves your problem too.
