Is it possible for me to use a 360 controller to play PR?

Recently I bought a wired controller, and after a quick search of the internet I've found people saying that they have it set up so they can use it for Battlefield 2, but then anywhere I try and find how to set it up it's mostly people saying that a keyboard and mouse work better, which I'll accept is likely true, but I want to see if I can get this controller to work and see if I can use it in PR.
Anyway, is there anyway for me to set it up for use or a program I can use to get it working? I already have it working for Aliens vs Predators, which I tested earlier with a friend of mine.
thank you.

Why would you want to?
Console FPS are gay and are killing the PC FPS games because they dumb them down to 8 buttons for console fags to use...now you want to use a controller..for this..how dare you sir..how dare you!!!
I sincerely hope that you join a server i'm on so I can get a kick arse KDR from you as keyboard and mouse PWN controller users.
I honestly hope you dont figure this out and taint yet another PC game with the evil console fag epidemic...stay true brother..stay true

Watch what you say on these forums.....
And I'm a semi-console gamer, a long with a majority of people here, so yeah
I believe there is no way, as BF2 doesn't support it?

@Chalice:
Your language aside, you seem to have misunderstood the point of this game if you think anyone cares about your KDR or your 1337 sh0oting skillz.

I find my response with console controllers to be smoother and more precise, specifically on the 360 controller. The big advantage one gets with aiming using a console controller is that is it like having adjustable sensitivity. If you need to spin to the right you can push the stick all the way to the right and you will move fairly swiftly, but if you're lining up a very small target you can have super low sensitivity by slightly tapping the stick to the direction desired. Likewise if a target is slightly off to the side you can react with the appropriate turn speed. Essentially once you get used to using the two joysticks you can circle strafe varying sizes/speeds of movement which makes taking corners in games with deviation 100% perfect every time.
With a mouse you have one flat sensitivity, which makes shooting targets at range difficult for those set on high, and reaction speed difficult for those with it lowered. I know you can buy a mouse with adjustable sensitivity , and I know once you find your sweet spot shooting with a mouse feels way more intuitive, but new controllers have enough buttons to accommodate FPS games on a console so why is there somehow not enough to work with PR?
My buddy swears by his 360 controller and uses it while gaming on his computer, but the ones he got with his XBox were of an older batch and did not have Windows compatible firmware. He ended up going out to buy another controller specifically for Windows and XBox, you should check the manufacture date to make sure they aren't too old. The newer controller was very plug and play, but for R6:Vegas he had to download a specific program to update the firmware or some fuzz along that line.
LOL @ flame bait, if you care so much about KDR you should go back to COD with the kill-streak kiddies.

The controller I have is brand new, by recently I sort of meant today. Box for it says 2010 as well.
But I think it's mostly sorted now, I got a 30-day trial for pinnacle gaming software.
It's already got a basic layout for BF2 which I slightly dislike, but I can change it all and stuff so that it will fit with the way I want to use the buttons.
I tested it and it worked fine, but I'd missed out a few keys and mixed a few up when I was setting it up, so I'll be tweeking the layout for it tomorrow to make it more usable.

There is a version of the 360 controller that will work just fine on PC. In which case as long as you can bind keys to the controller than yes, use it to your hearts content.

You can ESC to the menu and adjust the key binds when in game. Makes for adjusting keys alot easier.

srsly guys just answer his question and dont ask "why", AND to answer your question, I tried to, it didnt work well. using a mouse is way better than using that little joystick thing.
