im hoping general tech support is the right area for this

so last night, i had 11gb left on my hard drive, so i started deleting thing to make more room. i got up to just over 15 gb free when i had to restart to remove some other programs. when it comes back, i have 14.1 gb free. i keep deleting stuff and restarting and continue to lose space on my hard drive. im down to 12gb free right now. i scaned my computer with AVG 2011 with all the updates expecting to find a trogen, but got nothing.

anyone have any ideas?

Disc cleanup and Defragment?

What did you delete? b/c some things like downloads go into Temporary folders that you cant delete easily (you need CCleaner for that), If you need space unstall programs like games and delete movies.

get CCleaner and run it every week to delete tempo. files and scan for registery errors.

mostly it was programs and some backup files, nothing temporary. ive deleted some more files and started defragmenting, but the free space is still going down.

edit: and with the defrag finished, im up to 16 gb
