Real life wounds vs. PR wounds

Can someone tell how would average US soldier behave when hit by a bullet in his body (chest or belly, you choose the spot)?

There are way to many factors to account for when talking about wounds for me to even begin to give you a general idea of what would happen.
Basically your torso is protected by your vest. Most bullet strikes there will be stopped by the armor. Explosions and shrapnel depending on size and velocity may or may not penetrate the vest.
Number one cause of death for a US soldier wounded in combat is exsanguination, or bleeding out. Not matter what type of wound you can expect large amounts of hemorrhaging. Which if not stopped or controlled will lead to death.
Second cause iirc is direct head trauma, bullets or shrapnel hitting a soldier in the face or head and penetrating the helmet.
I can give you more specifics than that if you want to know, but I don't see how this is relevant to anything.

IMO this smells like a roundabout suggestion to improve the wounded system, but in case I'm wrong then I'll say this: if you're hit by a round it will hurt, and quite a lot of the time the wounded will scream like ****, but then you also get people who are left unconscious, either through the bullet doing damage to the brain or through the shock of the sudden pain.

And then you get the odd guy being shot several times and not noticing, the odd guy surviving huge fragments in his head, the odd guy getting scared even though he wasn't even hit, etc etc etc. All things we can't really simulate in a game.
The system that is in place right now, including the new bleeding effect, is very good for gameplay. I love it. Get shot and you're ineffective, even if it's only one hit, and even if you'd easily survive that (given a couple of field dressings and/or a medic are nearby). Makes combat interesting and punishing, without having people die and respawn all the time, and leads to the pace of PR that I love.

Ah we got that thanks to BF2 hit detection...
Soldiers randomly survive deathblows all the time thanks to it!

no it happens irl, some people just dont feel it when their adrenalin gets pumping.

When bullet hit you in bullet vest you cud fall dawn AND THEN search for cover.

The wound system we have is good, the only one I know that is better is the one in America's Army 3.
All soldiers can revive when they have completed their first aid training. When next to the wounded guy it gives the medic some information on what wound the soldier has. Then the medic has to apply one out 4 treatments, when done correctly the wounded is now up and needs healing, when the medic picks the wrong treatment the wounded dies.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't possible with BF2/PR but that's about the most realistic medic system in a game as far as I know. But who knows, maybe Mosquill will come up with something amazing like he always does
