Rofl you love poking holes in PR's tanks/APC's don't you

That was an interesting read, good find. Would be great if we can get functional sights for the Bradley and other APC's as well.

It's sources in case the devs ever decide to make an M2A3 or M3A3, some solid numbers to go by for reticle sizes, etc.

Is there any difference between the current M2 (M2A2?) and those ones other than the Commander's oddly-placed CITV?

The M2A3 has lead compensation, where you just keep your reticle on the target while depressing a button or handle to engage it, and keeping a steady track while firing. The M2A2 ODS must have the gunner use the reticle to try and get lead right. The M2A3 has FBCB2, which helps immensely with keeping situational awareness. The M2A3 has an FLIR contrast tracker, which allows the gunner sight to lock onto a target and automatically slew to keep on target. Oh, and the vehicle commander of the M2A3 can designate a target for the gunner to automatically slew to once he is done engaging another.

At least, this is what I've managed to glean from this 422 page pdf...

You mean a hunter-killer system? Interesting, I was under the impression that the Puma was the only IFV that currently has this capability.

my problem with the armor sights is when I was a bradley gunner, I do not recall seeing the barrel in the sights....

Yup thats how it works, the gunner scans using the turret and sights while the commander uses the "CIV" to scan the opposite directions, all he has to do is squeeze a trigger, click the red button and the turret auto moves to the CIV location. then he releases the trigger on his joystick and the gunner will then engage.

Yeah, it could increase accuracy for engagement.

Yeah that's the hunter-killer system I was referring to. So it does seem that the Puma IFV and modern Bradleys (A3) are the only IFV's with this capability. MBT's have had it for years. If only we could simulate it in PR :(

I believe that many IFVs are beginning to get hunter-killer systems, or at least, a CIV.

The CV9035 mk. III is confirmed to have it, and this could also mean that the CV9040 mk. III has it too: CV90 Tracked Armoured Combat Vehicles - Army Technology

Don't know about the accuracy of the video and it's description:

But apparently the BMP-3M "Variant C" gives the vehicle separate optics for it's commander. I don't know too much about BMP-3s, but with the sheer amount of firepower, explosive filler, propellant, and people they have sitting in a 23 ton vehicle or so is worrying, especially when equivalent, HMG equipped vehicles tend to only stop up to 12.7mm AP or even 30-06. Add in the carousel autoloader that's pretty much in the middle of the vehicle, it makes for some very catastrophic explosions if the 100mm and missiles decide to brew up...
