What do you think of the recoil on this footage, how accurate could a person be with full auto draining a full clip.
Looks like he fires four burst and gets pushed back alot so i am wondering the obvious

Its as accurate as the MA's told the developers to put it, which isn't very accurate at all. [R-MOD]KP is serving with the Norwegian border guards and uses an AG-3 so he could probably shed light on how realistic it is in PR.
Either way, the G3 rapes face with full auto at close range, and with semi auto at long range. It isn't uncommon to take down a guy with a single, well placed shot.

It seemed interesting what happened on the first burst, if he kept holding down on the trigger it seems like he would either have too point up with the rifle or lose control completly.
But again i am not knowledgefull at all about automatic fire, the only thing i have ever fired was a .22 semi auto for fun..

A more accurate depiction that we're going for can found in that Pakistani Army video. Regardless, I think in that video you showed us, the shooter wasn't accustomed to the recoil which is probably why that first burst looked so dramatic.

Just because he looks semi stable doesnt mean he is accurate, you can see the muzzle moving around quite a bit.
Shooting at the range does not compare to shooting in combat situations. You can see how he has time to get himself stableand set, he isnt wearing any gear or extra ammo, he isnt on the move or having to shoot from behind cover, ect ect ect.
Ive never played with a fully auto rifle beside the M249, and I shot that in the prone position. An M16 on 3 round burst will deviate your shots a decent amount, I would imagine a .308 round on full auto would be a beast to keep a tight grouping.

According to my father in law, there is a way to let the weapon shoot and guiding it, instead of pushing it up to your shoulder, you give it some slack. And it will just bounce back on your shoulder, then you just guide it into the next shoot.
Damn, never thought that weapon to be that powerful :O

Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was assassinated in 2003. by G3 rifle with optics, from 180m. The shooter, highly skilled member of special forces and an organized criminal group, capable of choosing whatever rifle he wanted. He picked G3.
I guess that says G3 is an accurate and reliable weapon.

He probably only had the G3.
Sniper rifles don't fall from the sky and they certainly don't grow from trees....
An M16 has a better effective range than a G3
Personally, I would choose an AK 47 anytime. Rounds are available worldwide for a very cheap price. The rifle is very cheap. And the gun is very reliable and easy to take apart.

dude, if u want to destroy your shoulder, thats the way to do it.
I know, cause i fire guns for a living.
And i dont think your father in law ever shot a FN MINIME or a FN MAG??
these guns will obliterate your shoulder then. and a normal 5.56 will definitely hurt...

I used AG3 (as we call it) when serving as a borderguard. And you can control the full auto shooting after some training. But still, there are simply very few situations where you ever will have the need for it.
With full auto you will loose accurasy, and you will empty the clip in 2 seconds. In other words, a waste of ammo. In 99% of our training we used single shot.
With the exception that it weighs 6 kg, its a wonderful weapon. My rifle was 30 years old, and I never had a single jam, it got some punch with its 7.62 bullet and its easy to clean and assemble/dissasemble.
First time I fired an AG3 where a few weeks before I went into the army, a friend of mine "borrowed" his daddys weapon and we had a little shootout against some old steelbarrels. I was totally unprepared when I tried full auto and the barrel went into the sky. ops: Lucky for us, we fired against unpopulated areas.

Topic is dying, but I figured I'd post based on my experience to hopefully confirm the difference between the guy in the first linked video and how trained soldiers perform.
First, as others have mentioned, the guy in that first linked video was a "total noob". We're talking about some Joe Schmoe civilian with what appears to be very little firearms training (especially with full-auto firearms), trying to fire a 7.62mm automatic military rifle.
He was using an improper stance, more like something I'd expect from some of the 14-year-olds playing BF2. You could see from his demeanor and attitude/expression that he was intimidated by the weapon, and completely failed to take charge of it. To put it bluntly, the guy was a pussy.
I've fired the G3 family of rifles and carbines (as well as their 5.56mm variants) and found them to be very comfortable shooters. But as much as I love H&K, the G3 series of weapons don't have the best recoil reduction system in place. It's about average for most modern high-quality battle rifles, but they weren't made with babies and pregnant women in mind. I don't care who you are, either a skinny freak like DJ Qualls or some muscle-head like Dwayne Johnson, you're going to feel the bite from the G3 when you click that selector over to "20" (or "F").
I'm not a big guy myself, topping out at around 160 pounds on average. But I was an Auto Rifleman, so I have been used to humping a beefy weapon around. I've also been a firearms instructor and weapons expert for longer than some of the people reading this have been alive, and have fired more than my fair share of rounds. My level of experience and training gives me the skill to fire just about any automatic weapon with more stability and control than the average soldier, let alone the weekend shooter.
And even for me, the G3 proved to be a challenge to control in sustained automatic fire. I could burp out 3-5 round bursts with minimal muzzle climb, capable of placing all rounds inside a 4" circle at 50m. But when unleashing an entire magazine in one gulp, I usually had the majority of my rounds creating a 3-foot pattern at 50m.
There are other rifles with similar caliber that handle much worse in automatic fire, and there are a couple that handle better. For example, I could fire an M60 from the shoulder in 50-round belts at a target 50m away and maintain control over the weapon enough to impact all hits in a 2-foot ring. But the M60 was a heavy fucker, especially for someone my size to be shooting it from the shoulder like it was a target rifle, and that added weight did help minimize muzzle climb. The M60 was also designed for sustained automatic fire, and has a very decent recoil reduction system in place.
I think the recoil in game is fine. It's not perfect, but what is? It's good enough that I don't sit there thinking to myself "What the hell is this ****?". And I get pretty picky when it comes to weapon realism in games like PR. If something looks bad, you can bet your *** I'll be one of the first people to bring it up.

My granpa said than in his time, somene didnt shoulder his rifle grenade (or something similar) properly and left some soom between shoulder and the stock. Grenade missed completely ofcourse, it hit the hill to his right and his shoulder was black next day.
So iw ould ne so sure about losely holding the weapon and guiding it and whatnot.

Hey NinjaDan, great to be reminded that people with such experience are on here keeping an eye on things (forums and advising).

Good with people knowing their stuff =)
On another note (me not really knowing), I remember the assassination of Zoran Đinđić due to our (SWE) Foreign minister Anna Lindh being close to that. She was later killed herself btw.
I remeber the rifle used to be an msg90, ergo not really a G3. Could be wrong.

The MSG-90 is a "Poor Man's" version of the PSG-1 developed for military application where the PSG-1 failed to perform. Both are considered part of the G3 family, but there are several major differences between them. Some parts are interchangeable with the G3, but for the most part they have their own components. Both the MSG-90 and PSG-1 are semi-only, as its primary role is that of a Sniper/Marksman rifle.
I do recall some details of that assassination, but I don't remember if it was the MSG-90 or PSG-1 used. Because the assassin was a police officer, I would guess it was the PSG-1 used but Serbian agencies might have been using the MSG-90 at the time due to reduced cost of the weapon and easier acquisition.

so i never realized...
but NinjaDan is a badass.
Well done sir. I dont see why this is still open for discussion, a military advisor and a weapons expert just set us straight gentlemen.
Personally I only use full auto on building clearing...but id prefer the Ak74-u for that.
I can usually pick off a Blufor at 150 m with one or two shots with the g3 so i dont have a problem.
