Unarmed/Civilians for HAMAS on insurgency

I just played a round of Gaza Beach as HAMAS and my squad was getting several civi kills. The thing is, there are no civilian kits on Gaza Beach. A group of individuals on HAMAS decided to drop their kits and run around unarmed with groups of armed teammates.

Does dropping the armed kit immediately turn them into a civilian that gives BLUFOR a penalty when killed, or does it take several minutes to activate? Can they, as unarmed palyers, still man assets? In addition, is this feature only on insurgency maps, or does this tactic work on Asad Khal as well?

I have to say I find that tactic to be very low, as there are no selectable civi kits on the HAMAS team. People are used to knowing that they can shoot HAMAS without warning. And then comes these people. I also feel that the 5 minute spawn penalty that comes with shooting one civilian more than excessive.

I suggest removing the unarmed/civilian "don't shoot me" feature for HAMAS on whatever maps it has been implemented on.

you have to wait 1 min before you become a "civilan"

Read the manual to find that out,

and frankly it shouldn't be removed, it keeps Blufor on their feet, it makes for better gameplay.

The HAMAS unarmed/civi rules are the exact same as the Insurgent ones. Getting in then out of vehicles, picking up a kit, etc

Plus unarmed HAMAS are quite a bit more useless than Insurgent civi's, as they dont get Binocs, med pack, epi's, grapeling hook, etc

read the manual. It is right in there, clear as day.
HAMAs are well known for using human shields. This has been discussed to no end.
If he has his hands up...shoot the guy next to him with the rifle. Then shoot him with the shotgun.
