How are points determined?

Can someone explain this, i tried looking through the manual but it wasn't there. I'm asking cuz sometimes somebody who has 10+kills but only have like 500 pts, while another person who seems to do nothing has like 1000 pts. On insurgency its even more confusing, because my squad got 0 pts for destroying an enemy cache which really confuses me. Sometimes my squad will get 3000+pts and other time we'd get below 1500.

It does say it in the older editions of the manual IIRC, I'll try to find it.

Simple fact is doing more teamwork related things gives you more points, mainly firebases as building one as a group usually gives your squad a score of 200-500 individually.

PR isn't really about the score. It is nice to see your name at the top of the End-Game screen, but I know that sometimes the highest scoring players were not really participating in the battle. The points system almost says more about what role you played in a round rather than how effective you were. A driver can score lots of points throughout a round while being a terrible driver and allowing his vehicle to be easily destroyed, etc.

The link below should give you a greater understanding of the point system. It is, however, a bit out-dated:

So many different things can give you points.

Once, in my 3 man squad, my SL went AFK. The other guy started punching him with the unarmed kit and lost points. I healed him with the med kit. The guy punching the SL wound up getting +100 points by the end of 15 mins, just because he was in the squad

I dont suggest you do that though

No man, usually the highest scoring Squad does DO MORE than others, both fighting, or building or providing logistics or going after insurgents and destroying caches. Its always like that. Highest scoring squad is the most involved squad, I learned that playing PR. A full squad that builds FOB, its assets, a HAT, a medic, sniper kit both give LOTS of points if used effectively. I think a squad gets more points incoming if all its members have different kits: ie Officer, Specialist, Medic, HAT, Rifleman, AR.

Easy way to get at the top of the scoreboard is

- Build fobs (4-6)
- Drive a apc/tank over large sections of the map
- Get a kill from far away with a sniper rifle.

destroying weapons caches should earn you a little more. right now it barely gives anything at all.

that thread is kind of dated, dont you think?

you get a ton of points as a driver/pilot of a transport. medic is really good for points. deploying FOB's gives the SL something like 100 points for every fob, and i dont know what for other assets. lets not forget the players that acutally build them.
