Converting battlerecorder files

Is there any way to import battlerecorder files into 3d editing software like 3ds max or blender? I mean everything: map, models, rigs, animations, textures. I'm asking because I just saw this movie and it looks like this guy is mixing a regular gameplay footage with some stuff made in 3ds max (2:55 for example). Just tell me if its possible in bf2.

Not my field of expertise... but i see no way for such a thing to be possible.. how on earth could you import what is basically a movie into a 3D rendering program??

I'd say it's a non starter.

Battlerecorder file is not basically a movie.

BR file is northing else than a file which contains what everyone and every object is doing. For example player1 on xyz position shoots x times with x weapon, player2 gets x amount of damage from x weapon on xyz position.

All that that can only be viewed in battle-recorder it self.

What you can do of course is record it with Fraps or another similar program, to create a movie file.

Are those two possible to do in After Effects: this and this?

EDIT: and how about those:1 2 3.

well the guy used the following programs
Software used:

1)Autodesk 3dsmax9
2)Sony Vegas 7.0
3)Virtual dub
4)Particle Illusion
5)Adobe After Effects
so yeah but 1. prob you would need premonition form the DEVs to legally open the PR models in 3dmax (i think).

Some of those moves with the arms and stuff I thought you could do in-game with add ons. I'm thinking Gary's mod, but it may be some other dev tool for CS. After Effects is not capable of doing that sort of work, usually only titles and other nifty things for particles. Sony Vegas is just a video editing program for making movies with transitions and effects.

The actual 3D movement like him taking the knife and stabbing the bomb would be possibly some 3D program like 3DSMAX or like I mentioned above, making the actual body of the guy move that way in a Source mod. I'm thinking in the same terms some guy did for TF2 character dances, just as a Source example. This could even be done in 3DSMax, just out of gameplay environment. This could be programmed though to run in game, thus giving the animation.

The maker of the CS video was probably handed demo files similar to what Battlerecorder files are. He then recorded it with FRAPS or another recording software to give him a actual video file(like Dune mentioned). Then imported it to Sony Vegas to compile into a video (much like Windows Movie Maker except BETTER!). Now certain clips he wanted to modify with 3D were probably either cut to look like it was in the scene (but actually was not) and remade in a local server or something of the like (I do not know the exact process of CS videos, never made one). With the aid of a motion tracking software, it is possible to make 3D objects appear to be in the scene, while they have been engineered outside. After effects has a motion tracker, but it is less 3D and more 2D

Took a class where I spent most the time working in 3DSMax and slightly touched on motion tracking, but then the semester ended... :(

I asked about that because it could be epic to make a PR movie but replacing the close-up scenes with 3D rendered ones. Adding some extra animations (like face expressions for example) and vehicles or static objects destruction.

Project Reality: The Movie

Anyway, do you guys know how can I import the pr meshes into blender?

you will be banned by the devs and shunned by the entire PR community of the rest of your natural life.

be sure to check with one first.
