bullet drop is in PR.
make a BF2 mod and lower the bullet speed to as low as it can go, that will prove it.
there was a thread about this i think 4 years ago...

Bullet drop is in-game. (Maybe not as much as BFBC2)

wow now I feel like a duck monkey, I could've sworn I saw one that was black, there was some thread where someone said that it was buggy or something and it had been shelved, I'm gonna search for that
Edit: Here we go found it, had to do with german assault rifles, and a dev posted it so whaaaaa?? I don't get what he means then

Ah, Blood was talking about details on bullet drop (getting it to work the way it does in real life) I think, not about having bullet drop in general.

ah okay, how does it work in real life? its just a single variable equation right? (or well... low variable) bullet density and gravity right?

IRL, barrel and sights are obviously not in the same position. The extended lines of barrel and sights meet at a specified distance to compensate for this (called zeroing). In BF2, however, projectiles always originate from the center of your screen unless it's a vehicle IIRC.
About bullet physics: Acceleration directed towards the earth due to gravity (depending on projectile mass) and air friction (depending on projectile shape and velocity) influence its flight. Muzzle velocity, of course, plays a big role as well.

BF2's bullet physics are very simple. There was a project for realistic bullet physics once, but it couldn't be included into PR because it did not work for tracers.

A workaround would be to remove tracer rounds alltogether from normal riflemen magazines and have MG magazines consist of 100% tracers.

Yea, that has been talked about a lot. Devs went with what we have now, and I personally like it better this way. PR works very well without bullet physics - that's something PR 2 and PR:ArmA 2 will be better with.

real life compared with PR from the tactical gamer website, all thanks goes to the maker.

i think bullet drop should be removed for weapons which have adjustable sights. we cant see past the maximum effective range of any of our rifles anyways.
example being the C79 Elcan sight can be, once zeroed at 200, adjusted on the fly to fire at targets up to 800 meters.
maximum view distance for now at least within the BF2 engine far below that.

actualy the max VD is 1000 meters in PR... and can be a lot more. yes but that'd give them 100% accuracy first time nearly, which usualy isn't possible IRL so bullet drop is fine as it is.

that is assuming you are on flat ground with no obstacles what so ever for 1000m. in no PR map do you have a clear line of sight for more than 400-500 meters anyways. if you do there's nothing out there to shoot anyways

Bullet drop has been in since vanilla BF2.
