i7 is more powerful but that cpu will handle it fine.

Not really anything, Arma2's performance runs on a variety of things, like most other games.
More bots = higher CPU usage
more buildings, grass etc = more video card ram usage
So i'm for your sake not gonna give you a good example of Arma2's performance, I don't want someone getting their hopes up for it to be crushed.

It does not work like that. The I7 can easily out preform the 1090T when it comes to gaming.
Besides, 6 cores isnt even nessesary. A core 2 duo can out preform a 1090T.

If you're willing to spend more money and learn how to OC your CPU, the HD6870, HD5870 and GTX580 will yield more FPS than the HD5850 (in the order listed).
GeForce GTX 580 Arma II: Operation Arrowhead Performance | bit-tech.net
You can actually find HD6870's for ~250 as well, and they scale better in crossfire than the 5xxx series from reviews that I've read. The ~$500 GTX580 will be your best single card performance choice, however afaik crossfired 6870s will beat it for about the same net cost. That being said, I've read too many stories about driver issues & game incompatibilities with multi-card solutions to ever bother with it myself.

Ya'll lookin' in tha wrong direction.

Spend $100 or so on RAM for a ramdisk or an SSD, it will make a much more noticeable impression than an equivalent amount on GPU, especially if you want to run all high

Uh...No...an i7 (Which has hyperthreading, which means windows recognizes it as a octo-core) will easily out preform a X6's.
Also go with what bloodbane said but really look at an SSD instead of enough ram for a ramdisc big enough for ArmA 2....

Solid-state drive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To make that basic, its basically a hard drive without the disc and it has blazing fast read/write times which help tremendously in ArmA 2 with loading textures.
And ram disc is basically where you store items on your physical memory (which would mean you'd need about 14-16 GB to have arma 2 and a functioning computer)
