Earplugs-lower in game effects

The Problem:
As a person who enjoys to drive vehicles such as APCs, Tanks, and Logistics trucks. Sometime I am not able to hear my teammates talking and it requires me to jump out of the vehicle to hear the person
But on the other hand when in big maps. it is essential to hear where armor or shoots are coming from in which case i need to rev up my in-game effects.

Solution:
Add an earplug option to the T-rose. This, when selected, will lower in game effects but not VOIP. this will allow you to chat easily in a vehicle, or in loud situation such as a firefight.

Proof of concept:
British troops to wear smart earplugs in Afghan combat • The Register
Ear damage in soldiers: US Soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan Suffering Hearing Loss

How will this work?:
Use the T-rose, and select it by pressing it on screen, when selected a messgae will appear that will say either "Earplugs are IN" or "Earplugs are OUT". So now you can communicate with 25-50% less in-game sound.

So Now:
Please give me input on the suggestion. I checked the forum so i believe it inst suggested.
It may be in Arma 2 but currently not in BF2 Project reality.

hopefully this is not hard coded.

Some how I dont think this would be possible. Most likely because It would involve changing the options in game.

Yes, but outside programs like Teamspeak and Ventrilo do not. However maybe that effect could be applied with the comm rose command. Would be interesting.

I could see them as a weapon, but I think we are full on slots. Although, they could only be for crewman and pilot.

You can't access weapon slots while crewing or flying.

I know, i've played the game before. You could put them on before entering.

problem there is they may need to do so while driving in which case you would have to exspose yourself

There's also active ear protection, or active noise reduction systems. They're earmuffs that actually enhance small sounds, like footsteps, human breathing and talking, cocking and other weapon tinkering sounds, while reducing sounds like explosions and nearby gunshots. I don't know how widely they're used, but I've heard that they're growing in popularity.

But in a way, the game sound engine already works a little like active hearing reduction.

I play whit around 30% game effects, I can hear enemy armor whitout any problems and I can hear voip clearly.
Anyway this seems hardcoded.

Maybe there could be some kinda program which allows you to change your game effects and voip ingame whitout going to menu. It may have some problems whit punkbuster.

This is really about setting effects volume and/or tweaking the sound of engine/helicopter to be more silent then other engines generally, trying to meka it an ingame T-rose feature is too much effort for little gain, i would say.

marco, why do you really do persistently spam the suggestion forums with ridiculous ideas. :? ??:

ever heard of the master volume bar in BF2/settings/audio?

+ this is probably hardcoded

this, lower your effects volume and push your normal speaker volume up, you can hear your SQ mates clearly and everything else.

HEY,Hey,heyhttps://www.realitymod.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif... Do not crush my dreams, I personally like to design games. this is the only widely played game that people play that the players can help shape. its totally necessary if some of these ideas might someday improve the quality of the game. :-x
plus im not hurting anyone, you dont have to respond to my threads. I just happen to have alot of ideas, doesn't mean that they all will be used.

can you please explain to me how any of these suggestions will help improve gameplay and add realism to the game?

lets look what suggestions you have made already

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... klift.html

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... walls.html

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... -slot.html

i mean cmon man if your going to suggest things back them up with resonable sources and just think for a sec "is this hardcoded?" it will save you from having most of your threads locked

and if you want to help design the game, learn the tools to start in the community modding section, that way you can make your suggestions not just "dream" about them

Well, Not everything that is hardcoded is hardcoded, there were things that were hardcoded before and then they were tweaked to work,

Forklift- Help unflip vehicles. USMC EXTENDED BOOM FORKLIFT (EBFL)

Hesco walls-to place a defensive wall to be used as cover or as a perimeter for the fob
Hesco bastion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Improvement of ammo-to ensure that ammo is not wasted when it reloads everything but your HAT or AT. To make a cargo system that may be used by people.

Wait...Why am i explaining this again, i have explained it in my post and have researched it. I do not know all the limits of the engine or the Devs. If the devs are able to produce such a successful game. I have reason to believe in them. Plus i am not the master at bf2 editor ergo i may not be decipher what is hardcoded or not.

I am sorry that i have become the local forum nub. thats just the way i am, im sorry that i annoy you so with my "Trolling" :-(

I dont think you understood what i ment by it not being realistic, having a forklift drive out of the main on its own to go out, unflip a humvee, drive back to main under enemy fire is not realistic at all.

Hescos cannot be dug with shovels and normally require large machinary such as diggers to fill them.

anyway i realised i have taken this way off topic so im not going to post here anymore
