So I finally got the game working, and now at a seemingly random amount of time, although it's usually after about 10 minutes of play the game just crashed to desktop, any reasons why?

When looking for answers please follow these simple steps.

#1 : Read the red stickys First.

You have spent some time trying to help yourself without any luck, so your ready to ask for help:

Please include your basic PC info in your post :
Operating system = XP, Vista etc.
systems specks = cpu/speed, ram installed, video card/video ram on card,type of monitor
network setup = cable, 4 port 10/100/1000 d- link gamers lounge/ wired connection.
And a brief history before and after problem started.
Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.
The more info you can give the better your chance of getting a quick answer back.
You don't have to write a book,
but your basic PC info is needed to help you.

The only thing I found related to my problem was the crashing when loading or changing levels, but this is during gameplay.

Vista 32bit OS Service Pack 1
NVidia 8800 GTS 512 Video Card
3 Gigs of RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.40GHz

1.) Get a working OS : Win 7 64/32, 64 is better cause of the BF2 Mem.Leak. You need 1 Gig more ram then.

2.) when not get a good OS, patch Vista up to date (SP3).

3.) Install the latest drivers after the new OS or Patched Vista.

4.) If still crashing, reinstall BF2 and PR , dont forget the document folder to clear.

5.) Update Punkbuster
