Quads

I cannot tell you how many times I have died because of the motorbike. It has a shoddy control sytem that a bit hard to master, and it blows up in your face if you try to offroad with it. This was suggested already, but was locked because other items in the OP were discussed to death.

ATVs could be a very effective tool for crossing rough, hilly terrain like that in Op Archer.
If it was implemented it could possibly used as an ammo techie, seeing as ATVs have storage space on he back. I know they were implemented (or were going to be) a while ago, before I played PR.

They could be map specific, so maps with rough terrain get motorbikes AND the ATVs, while city maps like Fallujah wouldn't have them. I know the model above is for Blufor, but I think it would make a lot more sense for Insurgents and Taliban to use them. I don't think it would be hard to get a hold on a quad, seeing as it is a civilian vehicle.

So, thoughts? Maybe a DEV has the reason why Quads were removed?

I was talking to someone, they said they planned on removing all bikes with hummvees for insurgents in good time.

I absolutely hate the bikes, and I never understood how they even got into the game. Out of all the games I have played, the PR dirtbike is the worst vehicle ever.

The bike really isn't that bad, but I agree I would like to see a better form of light transport for the unconventional factions.

the bikes are just TOO Fragile . . you go over a bump you blow up even dirt bikes which are MEANT for off road use ... they should have a higher damage rating because if your bike gets shot you most likley get hit too soo you would get shot off a bike before it self distructs on you . . . but removing them and replacing with ATVS . . . . . possibly a good solution for certian maps but the amount of bikes should be dirasticaly reduced on maps with a shorter respawn time

+1 for getting quads back. the dirtbikes are too fragile, but if you've ever driven one on a local server, they're actually pretty easy to drive. the more ping you have the harder it gets.

quads are definitely not a Taliban or insurgent method of transport. bikes as we have them now are a little too fast, a little to unstable and a little to easy to destroy. you should be easy to shoot off the bike but to actually destroy it should be much harder to do. especial via collision. other then that bikes are great way to get around and i would hope they stay.

if it was possible i would suggest horse or donkey transport as these are definitely the most prevalent modes of transport in the MEAO

come to think about there was talk of the creation of a european model Motorcycle like a Regular cycle like in the picture above. . i feel that would work better because it should be slower and stronger in theory . . . Sooo i will try to find the thread where i saw it a year ago or So . . .

Can we just have slow-ish bicycles? And make sure Civies are not allowed to be shot while riding on it.

Mountain bikes would be awesome, go trail riding on Korengal. Traditional bicycles wouldn't really fit though. Wait till the new Honda is introduced to see how that handles, hopefully much more sturdy and reliable than the dirtbike.

Seeing as dirt bikes are used quite often irl by insurgents and the Taliban, the game would be lacking without them. I would just say stop whining and learn to ride the bikes. Going full speed off a bunch of dunes and into a ditch isn't something you would want to do on a real dirt bike either.

Someone needs to take hold of the bike's physics model by the b411$ and re-make it. They should be retained, and i would recommend the damage be increased until they are fixed.

just make it so leaving a burning bike doesn't hurt you, that doesn't make sense, and it would probably make people hate them less

I'm fine with bikes as they are, sure they're difficult to drive and near impossible with lag in the mix but that's what the practice servers are for.

+1 for "cruising in style" what happened to this anyway?
I'm no expert on the subject but quads seem very unrealistic if used by abu talib or the ins, or even regular blufor jocks for that matter!

NOOO! Keep the bikes, you can drive them easy after bit training. They are awesome in urban enviorement, you can go high speed and not slow much in corner. They just need to be maybe bit lighter and have more HP. And maybe some kind of "tracked" mode if you shoot engine.
