So I always wanted to get PR and never got around to it, well I finally downloaded and installed the latest version and was ready to play...only one problem. When I click the Project reality shortcut on my desktop the little loading screen with Project Reality proudly stamped across it opens and stays open for about 1 1/2 minutes before suddenly closing, never to be heard from again. this happens every time I try to open it please tell me where I screwed up

This may sound stupid, but it's worth asking.

Do you have Battlefield 2 installed and patched to the latest version (1.50)?

I'm not that technically gifted so that's as far as my support goes I'm afraid.

However, search the forums and you may find posts/topics from people with
similar issues.

thanks for the help although I'm not sure if that was/is the problem I am currently uninstalling and reinstalling everything with hope that it will work. It may have been an issue with the patch

OS, CPU, and GPU please.

I'm assuming you had it patched to 1.41 and then to 1.50, and that you are running as Administrator.

Also, have you tried to re-download the mod?
I'm assuming here that up-to-date BF2 vanilla works fine for you?

yes and normal BF2 works fine

I got the same thing!!!!. Ive really been waiting to try this mod and after an hour of waiting of installation, i tried to run project reality but the screen would turn black and then go back to my desktop. the game stops running. Can anybody help me!?!?!

You should try everything suggested in this thread. First check if you can play regular BF2, if not then reinstall that and it's patches.

i can play BF2 just fine. acutally, i had this same problem with BF2 awhile ago too. but then, i fixed it with i think using advanced tools and doing the data execution prevention thing. it worked for BF2, but sadly not with project reality.

Have you tried reinstalling PR?

"Open video.con with notepad.

Go to the line VideoSettings.setResolutionYOURxRESOLUTION@YOURREF RESHRATE

Change it so it says VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@60Hz

This fixed the problem for me, hope it helps."

BF2 wont start either. I was working just fine before i installed PR, now it doesn't.

where can i find video.con ?

In my documents > battlefield 2 > profiles > 0001 (or 0002, etc) > video.con.
