Tank Reticule Elevation Marker

Most modern tanks have bearings that show the angle and elevation of the gun from the hull, its integrated in the computer that calculates the trajectory. This feature would be nice for coordinating fire with your gunner in a tank or LAV. So the driver could be like "Target 360 Degrees 11 Degrees High", Instead of "Target 360 Degrees... and uh... like in the middle of that hill somewhe-" *boom*
*Edited*
Thank you
[R-DEV]77SiCaRiO77
I've made 2 shots to show examples of this implementation
This feature would of course be for both the driver and gunner.

Did you just make this up? There are no 'elevation markers' in armored vehicle optics. I think you don't even know what you're trying to suggest, either provide a source or a at the least, an MSpaint picture of what you're talking about.

anyone else get what I'm saying? I'm trying to be kinda straight forward here.
What I want is, A ruler similar to the compass at the bottom of the screen
Except I want another on the right side of the screen that measures the angle of elevation.
This would be for all Armor with a Hud, so like tanks, LAVS, AA tanks etc
(Like... I'm looking 11 Meters High, or I'm looking 75 Degrees High, or Low, or whatever)
That's so, when you're driving a tank, and you see a bad guy, you can not only tell your gunner the direction, you can also tell him exactly where he is on a vertical axis. sometimes this isn't a big deal, cause you can be like, he's North East on the second floor. But for other times, its harder to pinpoint stuff vertically. Especially when you're dealing with hills and stuff. Anyone understand what I'm saying?

thats why it is always good to make sure you do your research so this does not happen. make sure it is realistic before posting. otherwise it will not be considered.

most modern tanks have barings that show the angle and elevation of the gun from the hull, its integrated in the computer that calculate the trajectory . so it exists.

I think I get what hes talking about, kind of like the compass, but on the centre-side of the screen, so you could be able to say '330 vertical' or something. However, it wouldn't be that pracical as usually you can say enemy 330 and your squadmate can simply see the enemy - usually a darker colour on a bright background - stand out significantly.

But if it is... it'd be a great feature to have.
This is where you bombed it, TBH.
Would be neat to see, however, if you're having trouble with directions to enemy targets via driver>gunner, practice practice practice!

So, could this be implemented?

I use the range myself, as long as you know the bearing you can tell your gunner the range and he can than find it fairly easily. But you can't exactly do that in the vehicles that don't give the driver a range.

Why height if you can have an angle?
But i don't really see why this is important, having a good player who you can understand, will help you more then saying the Y degrees and then passing them over to your gunner, who pretty much only has around 60 degrees available for use. 10? is ground and 20 is the blue sky.

Yeah... and when you're good in math and you know you're drop-rate you can do indirect fire with 25mm M242 Bushmaster [<- True Story. With the help of spoters].
[quote="Tarranauha200""]I think he`s talking about something like this:

Its more like MILS : WXYZ, Distance : XYZm ELEV : +/- XX.XX

It's a good idea, but it seems a bit redundant since you can pretty much see your targets by calling out a compass bearing. Say the enemy is in a building, just say something along the lines of "2nd story, 2nd window from the left"

NO! trust me when I say no no no no. Yes in urban environments its not that big of a deal, but in maps like Kashan, or Qwai, and all you have to reference is trees trees trees or sand sand sand, it gets HARD. I've played with plenty of gunners who were like "What what what? where whe-" and then we're dead. I'm gonna re-edit the thread starter.

There are situations when the enemy is concealed in a place that is not easily described. It would be usefull, I've encountered such situations many times.
I have no expertiese on this matter at all, but it's hard to believe that tanks don't have means to display the elevation of the turret, at least in comparison to the hull.

Ive worked on Tanks for 13 years now and the only time i have seen it on an MBT was on a Cheiftan then CR1, it was called Quadrant Fire Control (QFC) and was an absolute last ditch method of controlling the gun. To be honest it doesnt matter what elevation the gun is on unless its an artillary piece of some kind or similar. If you cant elevate onto the target its too low or too high, who cares how high an angle it sits at? If you cant aim at it you are a bad tank commander.
Edit: Tell a slight lie, there s of course a graticule pattern for correct aiming marks but that is very WW2 and is only used in auxilliary sighting systems these days.
