Hi guys!

With all the new changes on the game including the commander changes i've been wondering what is the plans of the pr Dev's to the commander on future releases?

i do know that you will not reveal anything specific but at least i wanna know if there is any plans about making the commander more usefull and playable!

i enjoy playing as commander when we have a cooperating team but now it seens a little pointless!

Just wanna some information....

Cheers....

...well when the UAV is not bugged and causing server crashes hopefully we can see it put back in, other than that there isn't much more you can really do with the role, other than forcing the commander to be in charge of mortar strikes and whatnot, which is simply reinventing the wheel.

Being a commander adds a lot to the team. Putting down markers, combining efforts of squads, etc. Don't forget JDAM, and UAV hopefully in the next patch :)

Jack I agree CO needs some changes and better system, it is a priority for next major release but requires a major re-think on some points of the game.

great CO definitely makes a great round.

What about giving the commander the ability to draw the battle lines (front line as it where) on the map for everyone on his team to see so they roughly know where our territory is with the current intel he has.

I didnt think this warrented a completly new post in the suggestions forum coz it is related to this topic but if you think it is then feel free to move it :D

its not really so much about what we want to do, its more about what we can do tbh :p

I always thought a system where the commander can request assets (tanks/apcs/jeeps) from the command screen would be interesting. Sort of like how you could drop vehicles with a parachute in vBF2 but then without the parachute and only in the mainbase.

So no commander means no assets :)

We would need to make a War Factory and have the commander sit in a MCV :p

I Think one solution is take away the Squad leaders ability to set waymarkers movemarkers Etc . . . Also give the squad leader Only hte abiility to set the distance from a Map marker suchas FOB Enemy movment and Vehicles and from there they communicate to the comander what is at the marker ONLY this will promote a comander to be more involved and take away abilities that would Shun a comander from applying. Take away abilities from Squad leader let them only beable to set QUestion markers "?" and let the comander tell squads where to move with defense markers and attack markers the squad leader should only beable to set Movment and Look markers

Mumble is the biggest hindrance to requiring a commander, as his biggest job is coordination and communication. It's a huge catch 22, and forcing squadleaders to rely on the CO isn't a good idea in either case. The idea is to encourage commanders commanding, not to punish squadleaders squadleading.
