CTD in various situations

Hi,
whenever I play PR:Singleplayer Coop it happens that after not longer than 20 minutes, the game crashed. This can happen while I load a new map, it can happen while I'm lying in the dirt and doing nothing, it can happen while driving something somewhere...
Most often it happens when loading a new map, right after the initial 15% or so. This again happens most often on the map (which name I cant recall right now, the one with the city in the north, US vs. Taliban, US coming from the south, with a lovely little lake besides them).
Now to my specs: I installed BF2 clean and fresh, didn't change anything, started it once to allow it to write any config-files. Then I patched up to the latest recent version, installed PR 0.9.5 (downloaded it from the Usenet, as only there I can get decent speeds).
The whole thing runs on Windows 7, 32bit. Mostly it runs fine. Just theses crashes, from time to time. Any other info required?
Please don't tell me to redownload...
It will take ages!
Thanks in advance for any reply.
