So today I was watching some National Geographic while eating some food. At the moment, they were showing: Egypt Unwrapped - Mystery of the Screaming Man.
For about 20~30 seconds during the documentary, they played the song:
Desert Heat by PirateX.
How did I know? Well I've been playing PR for years so I know my PR music lol. That song is used on the map, Kashan Desert.
If you don't know this is the song (
2nd song on the list found from Google or the last one (R-CON)PirateX) here it is:
Desert Heat Mp3 Download
I just thought it was an interesting find so I might as well shared it.

hi,
the music has been found in multiple documentaries/tv show by now and although i LOVE the pr music, i dont think its that big much of a deal since there are like at least 20 different songs per hour on tv shows.
regards,
skull

lol yeah, its also interesting that they took music from a modification (is PR really that well known or they did some extensive Google searches for music?) and not from mainstream games. assuming, the mainstream games have copyrighted music so they can just take music from Scott or Pirate.

Some of their music is, iirc, 'free' to use and also advertised as (background) music for movies/documentaries and as such have appeared in several of those as well. It was pretty nice hearing PR music while watching a documentary in class a year ago or so

I think the earlier tracks aren't copyrighted, unsure. I believe the newer tracks are though.

PirateX' tracks are free to use, and are being used in quite a few shows, including Top Gear I believe, at least by BBC, and NatGeo of course.
Scott Tobin's tracks on the other hand are copyrighted, and not free to use by everyone
At least that's what I remember

If you want to listen to all of the current loading music just go into:
program files/ea games/battlefield 2/mods/pr
open up common_client.zip, and go into:
sound/menu/
Then extract the music folder to somewhere like "my music".
They are .ogg files so you will have to download a player that is compatible with .ogg such as
VLC player.

Both tracks in 0.95 trailer are not 'in house' made though.

The same track has also been used in "The Mighty Boosh" during Series 3 in the episode "The chokes"
