some hacker(s) is attacking the site with a distributed denial of service which can slow down the site or worse crash it.
due to this unexpected attack, further category announcements will be delayed.
Expect the site to be unstable while we attempt to keep the site running, and I thank you all for your patience and support. This is affecting ModDB, IndieDB and Desura.
We shall work hard to continue showcasing the best mod and indie games of 2010, but may have to delay the announcement of a few of the winners.

this explains the trouble I had yesterday accessing the site, hope it gets fixed fast.
I never understood the fun of this kind of things, it's like throwing a bomb on a wedding: not quite necessary and generally boozekill
