FFS, play some different maps!

Since .95 came out, I've only been able to play certain maps. Half of the new maps I haven't even played yet. Granted, I've been at university/college for most of the fall, but on the weekends I come home, all I ever see on rotation from the new batch is Kokan.
Kokan's a great map and all...but come on now, let's play something different now for a change. Plus, there's already a 24/7 Kokan server. I've been home since last Monday (I've been playing 3+ hours a day since), and the only maps I've been able to play on a 64 player server are:
-Kokan
-Muttrah City
-Fallujah
-Kashan
-one round of "Barents Invasion"
and let's see, more Kokan, Kokan, and Kokan.
I miss the days of widespread combined arms gameplay, with jets, tanks, etc. on larger maps. Maybe the PR player base is changing, but it seems as if people used to be more avid about playing those types of maps. Where has Qinling gone? What about Iron Eagle from the new maps (I remember playing it back when the new patch came out in October? Or Wanda Shan (haven't even played this map yet)? Or Burning Sands (only got to play that once back in October)?
Same thing with the Christmas Pack. Still haven't played any of those maps except Barents. If I remember from last year's Christmas Pack, Operation Snow Storm is a really fun map.

The TeamPlayerGaming server tends to have some throwbacks playing more frequently than other servers. Dragon Fly and Beirut to name two. Enjoy hopping there to get a waft of new old maps

As i said, server licence should include this:
On the maplist, there must be all maps from one gamemode, in all 3 versions or insurgency (Skirmish is optional) and as many maps of other (secondary) gamemodes chosen by the server.
So if server is AAS only, it would include all AAS (including "insurgency" AAS, if not skirmish) maps with all versions, everything randomized.
If its Insurgency only, it would have all maps with insurgency mode.
If server is mixed, you have to chose a primary gamemode and follow one of the rules, then add the other stuff to mix in (not limited by numbers). Also maps cant be changed by setnext command to prevent exploit.
This means equalization of all servers and giving chance to everybody not just ones that have Muttrah and Kokan and whatnot. And with this it means that people wont go for servers with popular maps but rather servers with mumble and yay, then everybody starts using mumble and we are all happy.

I miss Iron Eagle only from the maps you stated, and I think Kashan should be even more played as I have played it only 2 times in .95, as for maps as Kozelsk and Fools Road, I never play them because I just don't like that type of maps.

Mind you, some maps are not chosen because of performance issues. Dragon Fly used to be that map, today it's Burning Sands. Server admins should be allowed not to play maps for performance issues, or should be allowed to have limited map rotations when included in the server name (such as "city maps" or w/e)

Well in my opinion rounds got so long in 0.8 . Hour and a half is a perfect time but most of the rounds last around 2.30 - 3 hours. If rounds where shorter we could have more rotation.

Yes forgot to mention, maps with issues would be excluded ofcourse.
Well, city maps and we are back to square 1. Muttrah, Muttrah and more MUttrah.

Totally agree with this thread. I have been playing .95 frequently, and I have never played Wanda Shan (the map I was really looking forward to) Burning Sun Ive only seen being played a few times, I havent seen Qinling in ages (one of my favorite maps) I mostly see Muttrah like usual, and Kokan which I really like but Im slowly tiring of it.
I dont know what the deal is with the server operators, but it seems like very few are adventurous with the map selection. Maps like Qinling are kind of community splitting maps. Alot of people complain they are too big, and have too many assets (?) so servers get scared of those kinds of maps and dont run them. Its a shame too, because PR isnt just an insurgency mod, it has a robust conventional forces mode to it as well and sometimes its nice to have some nice equipment to use on a map no matter what side your on.
And the other thing that bothers me is that its kinda sad that someone put a lot of hard work into making some of these maps that end up never getting played. I think for that reason alone they should atleast get some server time, to show appreciation for contributing to a mod we all love.

Map diversity seems fine on most eu servers, although I agree some maps are underplayed.

I'd like to see Wanda Shan and Dragon Fly played more, and ofc less Fallujah, Barsah, Muttrah and Kokan played, so sick of those maps that I prefer playing BC2 instead.

Hardcore had the best map rotation up to a while, their last change makes no sense, I liked their previous rotation.

Dragon Fly is actually a fun map, not surprised to see it coming up here. And its lag seemed fixed last time I played it. Tunnel rat squads ftw, too

Muttrah 24/7 should be illegal

Have to agree with you all, Muttrah all the way makes me want to punch someone in the face.
The problem is that it attracts players easily (most of times retarded pilots) so it's favored by less popular server admins.

very simple solution, dont join the muttrah 24/7 server
For server admins its very difficult to select a diffrent map, mainly because most people disconnect from quinling and other maps because they dont want to play it so the map empties the server
also most of the new maps either have bugs making them unplayable or they empty the server
the reason admins set maps to kokan, muttrah, fallujah and other popular maps is because they are the maps which populate the server most often, if they set it to a less popular map e.g. dragonfly people dont tend to join as fast

muttrah, kokan, fallujah, muttrah, muttrah, karbala.
I can't stand it either, I have to leave a lot of maps because of performance issues also. So my play time gets messed up from either lag or the same maps.
Too many 24/7 servers; "Don't join!". Maybe they're the only populated server?
