My friend has been having quite a few difficulties attempting to run Project Reality from a Steam Bought version of Battlefield 2. She has tried mostly everything that is in the help section, and very little seems to be working. I can't personally help her, as I have XP, and run a hardcopy of BF2.

Can anyone help her? She's been getting CD Key's are invalid, and along with PR just not launching properly.

She needs to set up her online account for BF2. Then she needs to install PR into the BF2 directory of her 'steam' apps
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2
By default the PR installer will want to install to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2
Have her change it to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2
The installer will do the rest.
After she installs PR part 1,2 and 3 ( making sure the directory is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2
Then she should be good to go.

first off,

you should read trough this:

Only difference is to change the registry ( bf2+addon registry)
while running the Game. This did that for my friends BF2 complete collection steam version
