I'm installing BF2 on a new machine and I can't find any patches before 1.41, was this the first patch or are there others? If so a list would be helpful, and a good link would be saintly.

You will need patches 1.41, 1.45, and 1.50. You might have to do a bit of searching since a lot of old downloads are broken now.

I'm running v 1.1 now, will "full 1.41" cover all of the previous patches?

I don't even think you could get any in between patches now if you wanted to. Either way 1.41 is the first patch you need to install.
Oh and you actually only need 1.41 and 1.50, I don't know why I said 1.45.

Turns out that I need all of the patches from v1 to v5, they can all be found on filefront.

What do you mean you need all the patches?

I got battlefield when it first came out so I have an old version 1.1. So I have to get 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5.

1.41 should include all of those patches. The data on the disk is still the same now.

I must have downloaded an incremental patch, if you can find the one you are talking about, could you post it please?

i think his right need to dl all patch from 1.1 to 1.5 because i got full 1.41 patch downloaded but wen i check my bf2 its still 1.1
1.5 patches sometimes are broken so u have to look for working one

No, trust me, I patched mine directly from a fresh install off the disk directly to 1.41, then to 1.50 and had no issues.

Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0
